    Dip from Northerner

How fresh is the dip from Northerner.com? I see they ship it from the US warehouse. I've been wanting to try the Cope line for a long time now, but can never find it when I travel. And obviously it's not on the Canadian market. Hickory and Whiskey seem like they are worth a shot. Let me know your experience with dip from Northerner and how fresh it was, thanks!

I usually order Stoker's which has no expiration/made on date but it's always been fresh. Other than that the closest to expiry that I remember is some Copenhagen Natural Extra Long Cut which was a month away from expiration when I received it. I notice that they offer expired dip for sale so they must pay some attention to freshness.

I've bought Cope long cut here in B.C., but whenever I order American products from Northerner, they get stopped for duty. I don't experience this when receiving shipments from Sweden. The dips I have had from Northerner were fresh and I have no complaints. I just spent $65.00 on a pouch of Beech Nut chew, a can of Copenhagen LC and a can of Skoal Peach, that was just the duty.. If you live close enough to the US border, it would probably be better to go down and pick up a single can, I've not ever been asked to pay duty when bringing across a single can. I should also mention that Northerner products being shipped out of the US come in a rather large box, shipments from the Swedish warehouse come in bubble wrap bags. I don't know if this attracts the duty attention or the fact that it's a transaction between the US and Canada, but without fail, you will likely have duty.

Yes, that's a good point and one that I should have mentioned in my last post. Since about Christmas every order I've received has been taxed and that is why I have been ordering Stoker's. Even with taxes it works out to a bit less than $6 per tin when you consider there is the equivalent of 10 tins in a tub.
