Did my first chewing tobacco today.

Got over anxious waiting for Northerner to send my bag of Stoker's Tenn Chew over, so I bought a bag of Red Man from the 7-11 for $5.7something. So far I really like it. I do get the taste of raisins in the beginning but as it mellows out the flavor becomes more of a pipe tobacco flavor. The spitting bit is not as bad as I thought it would be. Lots in the beginning but the harshness lessens as the tobacco settles. Good stuff. I have to get a big chew order going before PACT kicks in.

Never got into dip. Never even tried it.

It would be stupid as well for me since I had surgery on my lower gums which would probably increase my risk of cancer from something placed right there.

But good luck with your endeavor. :P

dip has less sugar by far than chewing tobacco... redman chewing tobacco does taste good but I know a guy who takes baseball size chaws and it seems to have given him diabetes.... Its like heavy duty sugar. dip has no sugar I don't think...

Yeah the sugar is kinda heavy. The Silver Blend is sugar free but I can only find that online for now.

How much damage would one bag do to teeth if any?

Dunno. I brush more often when chewing so I'm not too worried about it.

Dip also has sugar too, though I'm not sure about the Natural varieties, but some are a bit sweet. Chew of course is very sweet, some more than others. Morgan's had a cotton candy like sweetness, while Trophy was not very sweet. The Silver blend is not bad, I can get it at a local tobacco shop. I like chew. After a chew or dip, I always rinse my mouth out well, and I brush before bed. Since you don't actually ingest the chew or juice, I am not sure how it would affect diabetes, but I've never checked my blood sugar, so I don't know.
