Thanks for the information, but i (and anyone else who lives in Iowa) am pretty much fooked since Iowa put in place a total ban on any tobacoo prouct being shipped into the state no matter who is the carrier, see post #13 in this thread.

At least by starting this thread a few more people have found a local source. It's good to have options

I will be hitting up the locals, but FYI Rick from northerner is working on Iowa for deliveries, so not a ban necessarily as long as they figure out how to deal with northerner and tax collection.

Ok so i got an update. Picked up some General tonight. 1 can of los (the last one), 2 OP and 2 white. And yes it was $3.99 a can. Did stop in at my local tobaccco store on the way home. Asked if they would ever be stocking Swedish snus, they said probably not. Next time down to the other store i will ask them about maybe putting in an order for some rolls.

I stopped by the Tobacco Hut today and purchased some general mini mint. Little general fridge with mint and wintergreen.

Curious what products he might have access to, I'll have to stop back and ask. I'd be okay putting some money down if he could order a couple rolls for me, think it's only General branded stuff?

When i called down there last week he said he saw still waiting for the los to arrive. I do think right now they are limited to General. The woman i spoke to at Ankeny said they are having a hard time keeping up with the demand right now. I'm going to give it a little while and see if they will look at getting some Thunder and a few other brands, Ettan, Grov maybe. Right now they carry General Mint, OP, White, WG and Los.

EDIT .... Also i want to ask if they can get General Sterk or ES in either los or portion.

I wonder how this distribution thing works. Swedish match apparently supplies cigar shops, but only the General line.
Now The Northerner also wants to supply snus to these same stores? The Northerner wants to supply more than the General
line? Will SM and Northener be competing against other? because clearly SM could supply the entire SM catalog if
they wanted too. Hows that gonna work?

I'm not even gonna ask if I'm missing something here.

Swedish Match seems to supply "General Cigar" which has an established distribution network for cigar shops.

The cans I bought do have general cigar on them, it will be a sort of "competition" in b&m stores I'd say as Northerner will offer more than General. I wonder if they will be able to offer General at all tbh.

So I'm assuming this shop would have to get the other brands through Northerner or someone else besides general cigar.

Does the Tobacco Hut only have mint and Winterdreen or did he have original and white portion as well?

I'm curious about this too. After talking to the owner of the store i went to about my local store, they said since my local store is a chain they would have to wait for a "corporate decision". The two stores in Iowa are independents so can buy from whomever they want.

I did look at V2's website to see if i could find any US distributors. For US wholesale they say to contact fsoder@northerner.com. SO it appears to me that Northerner is trying to get set up as a US wholesaler for the other Swedish companies.
I'm thinking next time i'm in the store to stock up i may have to take this info down to them.

So I finally made it to the Tobacco Hut and baught 5 cans of General white. I asked the guy if he had been selling a lot of the stuff and he said just in the last week or so he has been selling like crazy. So this is good, hope he continues to sell so I can buy. Then I had to wait in the poring rain for an hour for the bus.

Oh and he had the little fridge on the floor behind the counter like there was no where else to put it. ha.
