It's not all bad news Chad, I hear you get 72 virgin (unopened) cans of Ettan Los if you die as a martyr. Unless you sinned in your lifetime, in which case you get 100 cans, but each and every one of them is General Mini Mint.
$9.12 to ship 9 cans?!!!! Many sing the praises of Northerner. I'm sure they are good folks and they probably provide good service, but their shipping charges are ridiculous. But the biggest problem I have with this is the lack of competition. Who else is there? If Northerner\Snus.com\Getsnus decide to raise their prices or increase shipping fees, what are you going to do? Do you have a choice, other than quitting snus? Sorry. this sucks.
It only cost me $10.10 to have 31 cans shipped from the PA warehouse via UPS. I think volume helps offset the shipping costs. Try adding a buncha cans to your cart and doing a dry run. Shipped to IL BTW.

Sadly, when the cost of doing business goes up....everyone bears the increase in prices. Northerner made an incredibly intelligent business move, and have strengthened their position in this market. I'm happy for Frank and Fred and will continue to use their store/stores exclusively, because IMO they have and always will offer the best product and best service. Knowing Frank he will do whatever he can to keep the prices as low as he can, so that it's not that much of a shock to our wallets. The bottom line here is that because of PACT it will cost them more money to do business in this country, and it will cost us a little more money to get our snus.
The alternative to bitching about this is, find another form of tobacco to use...not being a dick, just a realist. I have to pay more too, sure I'm pissed...but not at Frank. I'm pissed at the U.S. nanny state for passing such lame ass legisltation into law. Frank is making it possible for you and I to continue getting our snus by coming to the U.S., and if absorbing GetSnus makes that position more fiscally viable, then I'm good with it.
Yea, 10 cans isn't worth my time to fill out a web form. I've done it for some special buys, but my average is probably 3 rolls at a time.
I agree, purchasing more snus at one time does help offset the increase cost of shipping. More bang for your buck, and when you purchase more snus the cost per can goes down a bit too. I try to buy in bulk most every order, but I only order every 3-4 months for my main snus flavors. I'll sprinkle in a small order or two if I want to try something new, or get low on something that I like, etc.

I think I've only done less then 3 rolls twice, when I made my first order for swedish snus, and again when I was able to get some Claq Qui, and I had literally placed an order the previous day.
When you compare the shipping prices anywhere, it's not really cost effective to place little orders.
