Tins with no flavour... What do you guys do?

I recently got into snus and I'm loving it so far. Started out of curiosity but its replaced smoking for the past month or so and I haven't really even had to try or think about it (amazing!).

Anyway, I got my second order from buysnus a few weeks ago and just now opened up a tin of skruf stark and it has almost no flavour at all. I ordered 5 tins and have only opened one other one from that order and it was good, so I'm hoping the rest are good too.

I like buysnus and their customer service was good so I'm wondering if its reasonable to email them about it. Its kind of a bigger deal for me since I'm in Canada, and I have to pay a ridiculous amount of duty and taxes on the orders. Is it common to get packs with no flavour?

skruf stark portions to are tasteless too but the regular skruf is very tasty

I forgot to mention that I ordered portions. I've had other tins of skruf stark portion that tasted great, in fact it's my go-to brand out of the ones I've tried so far. It's just one tin so far that doesn't seem to have any flavor at all.

I disagree with this. I think Skruf Stark, and ES tastes just like regular skruf, all are wonderful IMO.

Maybe it's just your taster at the moment. I've never had snus I thought was significantly off, but sometimes they don't taste as strong to me as other times; even from the same tin.

It is more than likely just you, and less likely a quality control issue. And almost not at all likely the distributors fault, if I were you I'd just put one in your mouth and you'll probably be used to it or even enjoy them within a few days.

I actualy had a similar problem when I started out snusing that the guy here on snuson helped me with. I realy had troble tasting the flavor of snus that I had previously enjoyed . It is definately a tongue issue . Dehydration can affect how well your sense of taste works . Also I've noticed that food affects it very much if I eat something with strong flavors I can't even pickup the taste of thunder frosted for quite sometime after I eat. Drinking more water realy helped me when I had the prblem . Good luck with it

Thanks for the replies, I'll give it a while and go back to it. It could very well be me, my sense of smell isn't the sharpest. The skruf I have open now definitely doesn't taste as delicious as the last tin I had, but then again I've got some general ES going that is keeping me happy.

Wait...gotta disagree. Going back to your first post, you said that one can tasted fine and one can didn't??

If so, newbie or not, that is an issue. And yes, it does happen. Bad cans made it through quality control. Been doing this 3 years, has happened, some companies more than others, but that has nothing to do with your question.

Should you e-mail Buysnus about it. Yes. Polite, not demanding, more of an FYI kinda e-mail. Not asking for anything in return.

I have used Buysnus, they messed up minor once, sent me a tin of Oynx Carbon to apologize.


Good company, If it did taste good one and not the other, that was the can, not you. So Buysnus deserves to know.

To clarify- I (nor anybody else) can be sure it was one thing or the other, the only reason I threw my two cents in is because it is something to think about, our taste buds do seem to change daily and I've seen some people on the forums make statements without considering that. Nothing more I'm no god

Skruf. I think everything else that folks said about tastes, about changing tastes, about the confusion that is snus sometimes was right on the mark.


But... I don't think any of it answered the specifi9c question correctly.

See?? Newbie or not, one can tasting significantly "different" than a can just had?? Yeah, newbies tastes can be strange, but that just sounds like a bad can. Reason for my above post.

But again, everything folks said about newbies tastes changing all over was correct. I just really feel this is a different situation. Even when I was new, snus from can to can never tasted that significantly different. I really think he did get a bad can, And wouldn't completely surprise me given it is a skruff.

I have tried all of the Skruf's now. Here are my opinions.

Skruf portions and Skruf stark portions, - completely bland andf flavorless, I tire of them in my mouth after like 15 minutes.

Skruf Stark WHITE - My FAVORITE Skruf and now my 2nd fav snus next to Thunder Frost.

Skruf ES - portions - 2nd in flavor to Skruf Stark White. I use these when I want an ES other than a Thunder Frost.

So in summary, Skruf Stark White and Skruf ES, good. Skruf original and Skruf Stark regular portions - boring and bland.
