You have to give them points for honesty.

On Getsnus, under DEALS, they now have a new listing for Expired snus.
(or at least it's the first I noticed it)

I don't mind expired if the price is right. Gonna keep an eye out here and see what is added.

Sweet! Hey, I'd buy expired snus, depending on how far passed its prime it is. I would just throw it immediately into the rotation.

What's lame is that they have expired Gotland Grey for 1.99. That's what I payed for it when they first had it listed under "deals" a month ago when it was close to expiration. If you're going to be selling expired snus why not give a SUBSTANTIAL discount?

Anyway, no biggie, and yes- at least they're honest. And thankfully they didn't load everybody down with the Gotland Grey as a mystery can. I have no problem buying expired snus so long as it's marked waaay down.

This offer isn't respectable at all. Selling stuff past the expiration date is awful, and gives the company a bad name.

I just looked at their site. It's now listed at .99 a can.
They either made a mistake in their pricing yesterday or read your post.

If you like it, it doesn't sound like a bad deal.

It's not like we're talking about milk, here. If I had an option of buying a fresh can for 3.50 or one that expired a week ago for .99, I'm getting the one for .99. It usually goes straight into the freezer anyway, so I'd rather pocket the difference. I've noticed no substantial difference between snus that has expired a week or two ago compared to snus that is a month away from expiring.

To each their own, I suppose. I'm glad they're offering it, and if I actually liked Gotland Grey I would right now be buying out whatever stock they had left.

Last time I was in Sweden they sold expired snus on discount, however it had been frozen.

I wish they had it listed as expired just last week. Not that I wouldn't have ordered it, but it did kinda piss me off when my first order from getsnus arrived today, and I see the "strong loose sampler" or whatever that was listed under DEALS is all expired, a few random single cans I ordered are expired (not from the DEALS section), and my random can is General Los that expired in the first week of February. WTF. All the rest of it expires next month, and I ordered $65 worth.

I understand they are affiliated with buysnus? If so then I presume buysnus just ships their old shit to getsnus for us Yanks. Thanks. I don't mean to take such a negative tone, but my first impression of this vendor is not good at all. I ordered in the evening, too late to call, and by the time I called early the next morning it was too late to change my shipping option. UPS from Pennsylvania or wherever the hell it is takes just as long as getsnus -- 5 business days. And they sell you old shit. And their shipping and selection both suck. The customer service girls do sound hot though... lol. Oh well. Back to buysnus I go. Hidey Ho.

Whoah, expired in February? Are you 100% positive? You do know that Getsnus sells US branded General, which means the time date format is opposite of Swedish snus, right? If you got some 06/02/2009 expiration date it's not February like Swedish cans, it's June like US cans LOL.

And Getsnus is owned by Swedish Match. There's no affiliation with Buysnus at all. If you want to blame somebody, call Swedish Match, this stuff came straight from their factory.

EDIT: I just checked the General I received yesterday- it's dated 07/02/09. Your stuff's still fresh dude.

Ah, thanks Lucky Striker. Yeah I did notice after posting that it came from the SM North America factory, but I did not realize they had switched the date around for our sensibilities. My first experience made on this side of the pond. I thought they were unloading trash on me and I spouted off, even though it was a free can (and I now realize a good one to boot). I do wish they had said something a week ago though when I ordered a los sampler for the good price. It's expired, but only by a few days. I will probably continue to use them for deals on stuff I like to have a lot of that they carry, but I'm also looking forward to a more interesting order from buysnus. To each their own, and for most of us, both/any/all.

If the strong sampler is indeed expired, I would not hesitate to call and bitch them out about it. I personally have never received anything expired or that close to expiring from getsnus (that wasn't advertised as such), but you can damned sure bet that if I payed full price for something that wasn't listed as expired or close to expired, I would demand a refund, discount, or exchange. That's no way to do business. I wouldn't expect it from any of the Swedish shops, and I damned sure expect better from Swedish Match's very own online store.

Hopefully this won't shy you away from getsnus though. Like I said, I order from them pretty much weekly and I've always had great success with them. Give em a call and let them know what's up, I'm sure they'll try to fix it.

Gotlandssnus' foundations are built on three generations of snus experience, with the first snus on Gotland being produced in 1741. Using Alida tobacco, grown on the island of Gotland, in every one of their snus brands gives their snus a unique flavor that can only be found in Gotlandssnus.

Gotlandssnus is also the first ones to create a Christmas time snus, Julesnus, that's been a favorite since it's inception in 2003. Below is a list of the brands they produce
