    Which site should I use?

OK folks, here I come with a total newbie question. Apologies in advance for not doing my own research and spending the time to figure this out, but you all are so helpful and I'm sure someone will have some fast advice.

With the exception of my very first order from Northerner, I have always for the past year ordered from buysnus.com. I logged on today to figure out what I would order tomorrow, and I noticed that most brands I regularly consume are valued at 3.80 USD. Seemed a little high... at least while we can still get cheap snus.

So I went for the first time to getsnus.com to see if they had expanded their selection, which they have. However, I don't like the fact that they ship UPS for orders over $50, but I DO like the fact that they have 5-can dicounts as well as faster shipping, and their prices are a bit lower than buysnus.

I went to Northerner and noticed that the prices were again better than buysnus, but I'm not too familiar with their shipping process when certain brands are available at the US warehouse and others are not. How does that work these days?

To sum up, and to those of you who have been doing some comparitive shopping and have tried several vendors recently, which had the best prices when shipping is factored in, and how is your order handled when coming from different warehouses (ie Northerner)? And is there a way around the UPS delivery on getsnus.com for larger orders? I plan on making a rather big one, not because I'm trying to stockpile, but because all of my recent orders have been small and I'm getting tired of worrying about running out every few weeks. Thanks in advance for your kind advice!

I can say that Getsnus is constantly the best deal out there for me. My last two big (over $50.00) orders, I priced around to see who had the best deal. Northerner was the most expensive after shipping, at around 72.00. Buysnus, for the same deal, was about eight dollars cheaper at 64.00 or so, and Getsnus was less than fifty dollars, so I had to actually order like two more cans in order to qualify for the free shipping. On top of that, they threw in the two mystery cans I was entitled to PLUS an extra can of General Loose that was close to expiration.

So, if you look at it this way; ordering from getsnus saved me over twenty dollars than if it came from Northerner and twelve dollars from Buysnus, plus I got an extra five cans of snus. Free USPS shipping as well, and it got here in two days. At those prices and service, I'd have been a ****ing idiot to order from anywhere else.

As far as service, I don't order from Northerner enough to form a long term opinion but I can say that in the last year I've ordered from them twice and both orders were ****ed up. Buysnus has been consistently awesome for the last four years I've ordered from them, and Getsnus is a textbook example of how a snus shop should be run. Snusworldwide.com is high as hell, but I've had great service from them for years. They have the fastest shipping out of Sweden bar none (I'm talking about three days from Sweden to the southeast.) They have a couple of brands that you can't get anywhere else (anymore).

Awesome, thanks guys. I just checked out getsnus again and unless I'm missing something, they seem to have just about everything I want. I had heard about their crappy selection so never bothered with them, but I see they have GES los, Odens, Claq, Skruf.... Thanks for the price breakdown Lucky Striker, and for the advice on calling, Zman. I do remember reading that as well.

So does one register on the site, place an order, and then call them with the order number to request USPS? I would assume so... placing the whole order on the phone would not be too convenient.

Lucky Striker: I also checked out snusworldwide, as it had been suggested to me after snuskaufenonline stopped carrying those other brands. Good to know you have had good experience with them. Maybe I'll place a large order with getsnus to save the most money, then place a small order with snusworldwide for whatever I can't from the former. Yeah, I have never had problems with buysnus, and I must admit with a degree of embarrassment that I don't pay too close attention to price comparisons, but it seems like their prices are suddenly much higher? Last time I ordered it seemed like the total was creeping with each click of the mouse toward a level beyond my budget more quickly that it used to... I did like snuskaufenonline for their cheap prices, but to make it worthwile I always placed larger orders because their shipping was high. Again, thanks for the advice!

I guess it depends on this. Does Getsnus carry EVERYTHING you want. If so, go for it. If not, look elsewhere. I'm sorry, i am just VERY picky about what i want. If company A doesn't carry some, and company B does, I just use company B always.

I too was a longtime Buysnus customer until Northerner dropped their prices significantly below Buysnus, plus came out with a far better bonus program So I am a committed Northerner customer now.

As for shipping, they use Swiss Post. Not quite as good as Swedish post, and orders do seem to take a few days longer. Last order was shipped a week ago Monday, still not here. I expect tomorrow and definitely no later than Wednesday. For ME, timing isn't a huge issue, still have about 30 cans in the freezer.

there is no 'right' here. Just depends on what you want, how patient you are in getting it, and if issues such as bonus programs mean something to you. Northerner works for me, Getsnus simply doesn't carry the most important snus I ever buy these days. (Retro white with camel white being a close second)

Same here. I used to check the prices with all three outfits, including shipping. GetSnus always won out so I don't bother checking anymore. OffRoad is $50.50 shipped for 25 tins plus they throw in a free mystery tin or two. So my snus is less than $2 a tin shipped, when I consider the mystery tins. NEVER had a broblem with UPS shipping. It always arrives in about 3 days. 8)

Thanks Sage! WHen I get home and stop wasting time at work I will make sure getsnus has everything I want. I don't care too much for Retro or LS, and never tried the new Camel, so thus far their selection looks OK. I'm just glad they have Odens and GEN los, and Skruf, along with the SM standards. ANd they have Gotlands now too, which I've been meaning to give another go in portions. On the other hand, like you I always order with variety in mind. In fact, I've never even ordered a roll before because I would prefer to get an order with 20 cans of a wide variety than 20 cans of 2 varieties, even tho it's more expensive.

I think what I'll do is take advantage of the half-roll discount from getsnus on those I know I want a lot of this summer, then place a more random single or two-can order on another site. After a year there are still many brands I've never tried, Granit and Gustavus and LD being 3 that come to mind. Thanks again! I knew you guys would come through. I love that zmanzero was the first to reply. What a treat to get valuable advice from the newest of the noobs This site is great, and as a side note I've noticed EVERYONE making an effort to be cool with each other. 8)

Roo: I believe I registered first, then made my first order. Keep in mind it automatically ships USPS unless the order goes over 50.00, at which it goes to UPS. I usually make the order online and call customer service and put in for USPS. Sometimes I do the whole order over the phone if it's not too long a list. It's very quick if you're already in the system.

Sage: Even though Getsnus doesn't carry everything I like (mainly the BAT brands) I've still saved at least a hundred dollars this year ordering mainly from Getsnus. Hell, this Friday I put in an order with Northerner, Buysnus, Getsnus, Toque and Snusworldwide, so I have no problems divvying up my business. I can see the benefit of sticking with one company for everything, but for tastes as varied as mine and a wallet that doesn't stretch that far, I've become kind of discerning on where the cash goes. I usually put in an order with Buysnus once a month to cover the stuff I can't get from my weekly shipments with Getsnus.

GetSnus customer service is second to none. Just call em up and talk to a real live human that speaks perfect english and actually knows what they are talking about. They won't hang up untill you get everything ordered/ironed out.

We definitely seem to have settled back down into our happy little snus family again, as expected once the shock of last week wore off.

It really simply comes down to what you want, when you want it. have zero issues with Getsnus, they simply fail in providing what I want. But you, different, and if they have it, go for it. Still, just for giggles, make sure you compare their prices with Northerners, including shipping as it apples.

But honestly, ALL the major snus companies take care of their customers like 98% of the time. There will always be someone who has an issue with one of them. But overall, and have been here for close to two years, ALL the companies go out of their way to correct errors and boo boos.
