Best part of SnusCentral vs. Northerner?

Believe me if I had a few bucks I would open my own snus site... seems there is a need...

A really smart guy did this very same thing a couple of years ago. It was called Clubsnus. It lasted a few months, to mostly positive reviews. Then his sole US competiton pretty much killed it by signing exclusive distribution rights with certain manufacturers, effectively leaving him with only one or two brands he could sell.

He tried to make a go of it for a few weeks, then PACT hit. He went out of business the next day.

I don't really know what the moral of the story is, but I would probably shoot myself in the face before I tried to start up an American snus store site.

They won't mail smokeless tobacco to NC and a few other states even though there isn't any restriction on it. I have no idea if it's because they lack permits or are victims of faulty legal advice.

I had the same exact thing happen to me. When he marked it down to 1.00 a can I ordered several rolls that tasted suspiciously like Thunder Frosted. They mellowed out after awhile but I have a feeling that by the time the supplies got low he threw everything leftover into the same deep-freeze.

Lil Brown was working well for me but they stopped selling snus to California.

Geez, I go away to prep for the impending doom of Sandy and come back and see you people still obsessing over Northerner, lol. Dog is right, I wasn't referencing any one person in particular, but if the shoe fits. Also, I don't give two shits if you guys voice your opinion about a site that isn't doing it's job. I merely pointed out that I personally don't do that...I just move on, rather than rail about it online. Has the voicing of your opinions changed anything?

Fact is - Rick has suggested we all stop dissing Northerner - and made it sound as if we are all idiots if we complain about Northerner here any more despite the fact that they are preying on the misfortune of many nicotine addicts who do not want to smoke in the EU by fobbing us off with badly kept nearly-expired snus, not telling us when it has been sent, and not responding to our concerns.

Rick has probably taken more in money FROM Northerner than I have spent with them ... all I'm doing is sticking up for those of us who have SPENT money with Northerner and would like the common courtesy of being treated like customers by this dreadful company ... who he has represented here in the past!

We are not idiots ... we are desperate for snus.

That does not mean we should allow ourselves to be taken advantage of.

Americans should take note that this may very likely happen to you in the future - and you should never ... ever ... order from Northerner unless they were the only company selling snus left on this planet because they have absolutely no respect for their paying customers!

Squeezy....I feel you dude, and wish the situation was different for you guys in the UK. Hopefully it will change soon, and I better understand you UK chaps talking more about Northerner, than I do the US guys...because at least the people in the US have a choice.

I find it odd that rick is vacant for most of these Northerner discussions then accuses anyone airing their concerns as being bought off. Come on man what are you smoking out of those pipes of yours. I wasn't defending Northerner today...just merely pointing out that if a company does me wrong, I simply move on. You've said that you no longer shop with them, great. What rick charles said makes no sense in the real world. I sell items online, for example on amazon when you sell items people can review you. I have an item that sells about 400 a month and yet only has 15 reviews over 1 year. One time our company sold a substandard item, the amount of bad reviews was huge about 45%.

Human nature dictates that people only want to bitch when something is bad, and logically it makes no sense to bitch when its good.
People will only read a couple of the good product reviews, but will admit to reading most of the bad ones.

So when you get a company that does what Northerner does, and there is no excuse for it at all, then people should gripe and also warn other people.

Yeah, but when you give someone a bad rating on Amazon or Ebay...you do it once, you don't go back and wait for someone else to post a negative review and then begin griping about your bad experience too, shit people c'mon, lol. If you don't like them...go elsewhere to buy your snus...nuff said. Like I said though, if you guys want to waste your time bitching about a company that you probably don't even shop with, who cares....it just seems pointless.

Now for the info. As you all know, Northerner still sells online, but they no longer distribute snus to the US. The company I work for, has taken over the distribution of the snus brands that Northerner handled in the US. We have a much better distribution platform and I'm working on multiple deals for c-store chains, as well as more and more tobacconists everyday. I wish Frank well on all his endeavours personally and in business.

Now, I don't work for Northerner anymore....BUT, if I shopped at a place that didn't give me the type of service I was accustomed to getting, I'd just switch, and move on. I wouldn't talk about it online, unless of course....some OTHER shop was giving me free product. So, for those of you complaining about Northerner, I'm curious...which other online vendor is giving you free product, or discounts? If that's not the case, then what do you hope to acheive by continually ripping on them? I mean, I don't really care...but it seems fruitless, unless of course you're getting something for your trouble.

As for Northerner "sponsoring" this site....I'm pretty sure that's never happened. I don't know of a single instance where Northerner paid money to support this site. Sure they did the order fufillment for the SnusOn shop, and I think Snuson uses the Northerner servers or something like that, but that's the extent of it. If anyone else has more inside info than that...good for you, please enlighten us ;-)

I'm sure we do, we're the largest distributor of tobacco products in the US, we not only sell to retailers, but 600 other distributors buy their tobacco products from us. I'll check on Monday and see what we can do about getting you some snus in Sant Rosa brother ;-)

Like I've said numerous times I hope they get their sh!t together. I know no other way to prod them to do so than make sure they either see it here or feel it elsewhere. I also Hope to keep some unsuspecting newb from having their first snus buying experience be with them, at least till they get stuff figured out. One could ask why you care wether people with legitimate gripes who can not get a reply from the company voice their gripes here. Also every body was led to believe that they were part of this site so it would only seem a natural outlet for them. Also people were still under the impression that they were trying to bring snus to a store near them and that they were to be cut some slack for that, now we know that is no longer true. So in my opinion a lot of disclosure has come out in this thread. Thanks for the info. the fact is tho that info would not have come out without these threads. I still believe that if our EU brothers had a choice Northerner would be done by now.....
