    southern oregon and snus

hey all, just found this site the other day, and its looks really cool and has a lot of good info on snus, which is what im lookin for. however, i did have one question, which may have been brought up before (sorry!) but if not, I live in southern oregon. i would prefer not to have to order online, what would be some possibilities for me in purchasing snus?
    thanks

Other than the brands that are being test-marketed in the US (of which none are in Oregon that I am aware of), Swedish Match is the only Swedish company that distributes within US tobacco shops (again not available in Oregon).

Edit: If you are close to the Cali border, you may be able to border-hop for a can, but you will pay a crapton more than you would if you just ordered online.

to be perfectly honest about my situation, im 18 years old and haev tried repeatadly to quit snuff, after switching to smokeless tobacco to avoid cigarette smoking. I wish I had never started in the first place, but quitting has seemed to be impossible. Snus sounds great, but I am in a bit of a tricky spot trying to obtain it. hopefully snus becomes more readily available soon, that would be great.

Nicotine is one hell of an addiction. Thats for sure. I havent gone a day without nicotine in 19 years (started when I was 10).

WHen did you start dipping? At your age, now is the time to decide whether you want to quit all together, or keep on keepin on. I assume your folks know you dip? If so, maybe you can point them to the facts about snus being the least harmful form of tobacco. Maybe then you can order online without an issue.

used nicotine for about 3 years, switched to smokeless for the last year. my folks only know i used to smoke, and i switched to dip so they wouldnt know i was still addicted. so i dont think im gonna try and get them to buy it haha. im gonna give quittin one last go though.

As an oregonian i can tell you that Portland, OR was one of the major test markets for Camel snus. However due to oregon's rather draconian tobacco-tax laws retailers are heistant to deal with importing swedish snus (most major cigarette manufacturers deal with this for them to enable sale).

Online is your best source and for individual consumption (and orders less that $100) you're not going to raise any flags with the oregon tobacco tax.

            Hope that helps.

I stand corrected. Thanks for clarifying the test-market info
