    Anyone a member of snus.de?

Tried to take a look at it the other day. It says it is a "Closed Community" and that if you want to join you need to have a current member recommend you! Just what the heck do they sell there? Are their prices that great?

The first rule of Snus.de is you don't talk about Snus.de

I made a topic like this a while back, never got an invite.
I hear it's really nothing special.

There's nothing on snus.de that you can't get in the states much easier and much cheaper.

I think their closed community thing is simply complying with regulations in Germany.

      Cheers

It's different if you're based in the EU - they are the only suppliers of certain items and a provide a good service (if not the cheapest available).

Exactly, it's not about price, it's just because it's the EU.

US snusers aren't missing anything, you already have way more choice elsewhere on the net.

I use Snus.de all the time, even though Northerner has a better selection of products, because they're reliable, their website is functional, the snus is fresh and it's delivered in a timely fashion every time - everything Northerner isn't, basically.

I am a member. Even though I also buy elsewhere - sort of bargain hunter - I am glad I managed to buy from them before they closed shop for the public and became a private club. Because they are a nice safeguard against the anti-tobacco nazis.

Wow! I say somethning like that and I get called the community naysayer and town crier... That I sit back and find fault at every turn, That no one ever said that they were perfect, and I've been very quick to point it out at every turn. Hmmm

                  - the same goes for me.
But the prices are decent, but it's mainly for Europeans since you can get it cheaper in the states.

It's a Swedish/American shop using a .de website and AFAIK it's at least partly owned by Germans. The former name of the shop was skoal.net. They are somewhat web-pioneers to ship to (mostly) German smokeless tobacco users. They still have a German bank account, so even schoolkids can manage the payments and they still offer American smokeless tobacco shipped from the U.S. They have some unique selling points for the German market, so to speak.

I think that this closed shop thing is just their way to cope with the current legal situation in Sweden, respectively the EU (I guess it's some kind of stealth mode regarding EU-investigations like the one that was done for the recently published "illicit trade" study from the UK, it has nothing to do with German laws) - and it appears to be a real promotion-gag, because everybody who has no access thinks that they must be something special. Many newbies in German forums make the false assumptions that snus.de ships from Germany (which would eliminate customs trouble) or that they still offer Swedish Match brands. Neither is the case.

I've placed one order with them in the short period of time at the end of March 2011, when snus.de for a few days was the only vendor (I knew of) who hadn't ceased the inner-EU-shipments. That order was processed fast and hassle-free.

Their prices are a little higher than Northerner's (at least everytime I checked them prior to my orders) and their assortment is smaller, so I don't see any point to use them again, but unlike Northerner or Buysnus did during the uncertain period of time in March/April 2011, they immediately communicated everything they knew about the legal situation to their customers (I appreciate that attitude), and who knows if they might not become a last resort for us in the EU, in case the lights go dark for snus-users!

                      Cheers!

No denying the assortment is smaller, but they are around £2-3 cheaper per roll than Northerner, at least for the Euro/GBP exchange rate. Not much, but it works for me.

Registered with them, but never ordered from them. Northerner ticks my boxes at the moment.
