    Ordering snus in the UK

    Hey there
Sorry if this has been asked before but I had a search and couldn't find anything.
Anyone here in the UK and has ordered snus before?
    Who do you use?
Do you know any snus sites that will accept switch or maestro? The only sites I can find take mastercard/visa, and I don't have a credit card at the moment.

    Cheers!

I know that you can pay Buysnus.com via bank transfer (not sure about Northerner.com). When using a bank transfer, they charge you a handfull of extra dollars and do not process the order until the funds have been transferred.

I use Buysnus.com.....I recommend them. I do use a Visa card, but its a debit card, not a credit card. I'd send them an email asking if they can accept your type of card...if they can, you're sorted

Maestro is not going to get you very far almost anywhere. It's like Visa when they were doing the Electron cards - just hell to find places that could process them. Visa merged their debit cards to work on the same system as normal Visa, so one can only imagine that MC will eventually do the same with Maestro cards - until then, just get a credit card, I'd say. Pre-approved cards are given out like candy these days - even deceased family pets get them, it's ridiculous. If you get it from your bank, you can get it linked up with online banking and pay down anything you charge just minutes after you charge it. Way more convenient than having to deal with Maestro/Switch.

russ0r - Neither BuySnus or Northerner accept Maestro/Switch/Solo. My old bank account came with a Maestro debit card and I found it a pain finding non-UK sites on the net that accepted it so I switched to a bank that issues Visa debit cards and have had no problems since.

russ0r, I had the same problem as I only had a Maestro card....

I've never like credit cards because I pay cash for everything but I've recently opted to get a prepaid credit card....

I suggest you consider this as an option, or change banks as suggested....All the prepaid cards that are available in the UK can be found on any number of financial comparison websites in the UK...

Note: look carefully at the charges that are linked to prepaid cards (card issue fees, reload fees, transaction fees etc) and think about how much you will be using it....some cards are geared towards frequent users so charge a flat fee instead of per transaction fees....they can also be linked to a credit scoring system that will allow you to build a credit history if you want to apply for a regular credit card in the future and have yet to build a history......

I prefer pre-paid cards to bank issued cards as they are much quicker to apply for than a regular card (especially for a credit ghost like myself who has lived in a number of countries).....Moreover, they are great for internet shopping i.e. if the details are stolen nothing can be taken from your account that isn't there.....and you can be issued with more than one which makes them great for travelling or alternatively when your loved one runs out of cash while trekking in South America you can simply UPS a credit card.......

Edit: I wasn't aware of this before...thanks for pointing this our Rustic
