New to the site, couple questions

30 cans is so much, if you used 6 pris a day, at 1g a pris, that'd be 225 days worth. Now if someone had a special that was buy 10 cans, get an Icetool half off, that might interest me. But I never use los anyway. I do have one can unopened in the freezer.

Only a lot from some perspectives, of course. I use about four-six cans a week, so 30 cans would last me somewhere between 5-8 weeks. And that's with some heavy snuff use as well, because when the nicotine drops, those around me are about to become unhappy.

30 cans of lös, it seems, would take me a little over ten weeks.

I put away 80 cans over roughly the last four months--20 cans a month, of which about 45% of the total weight was lös. It comes to a little over 20 grams a day. That's an average, but I kept track yesterday and used 19 portions & prillas, so that's probably close.

I'm sure this question has been beat to death but when storing unopened cans in the freezer is putting them in a ziplock bag fine or do they need to be vac sealed. (I plan to use them as soon as I get to them, in the next month or so)

I use a freezer ziplock and all my frozen snus is fine.

Sage puts them in the freezer bare. I'm a proponent of Ziploc bags. The best is probably vacuum sealed, but I can't bother with the effort. I guess do what you feel is an appropriate amount of work. I will say that there is icing, and condensation in the bags which would indicate moisture loss is happening. I imagine length of time in the freezer would decide whether that's an issue or not.

As lxskllr mentioned, for three years, I have just been throwing my cans in the freezer as is. Has never been an issue at all. I have had some in there nearly two years before I used them, and they were as fine as new snus.

I think many folks over think this issue. Snus is really hardy stuff, kinda hard to really hurt it much.

Former grizz wintergreen user, first tried camel snus one night put 2 in and thought there has to be something better than this so after researching a little found getsnus.com and ordered.

Welcome to SnusOn. You are indeed correct, there is something much better than Camel "SNUS".

Currently have the following:

3-Thunder Frosted mini (love these)
5-Skruf stark white (getting used to the flavor, maybe it's the rose oil)
1-Onyx (this was a freebie with my order and I love the peppery citrus, portions feel like silk)
1-General dry mint mini (good for when my gums are a bit sore, nice flavor)

Have ordered:
Flavored Sampler #2 from getsnus
1-Roda Lacket Claq Qui
1-Goteborgs No. 2 White
1-Roda Lacket White
1-Lab Series 02
10-Thunder Blue (yes 10, little worried from mixed reviews)

Thunder Frosted is great, I used it way too much for it's own good and burned myself out on it. Skruf Stark White is great, it has a really interesting flavor. Onyx is also really good. I wasn't so into Claq Qui. LOVE Goteborg's No. 2, it has an amazing flavor, like nothing else in any other snus. 02 is great, you'll find the portions to feel similiar to Camel "SNUS", but to have a real earthy flavor. I'm not going to touch Thunder Blue, all I'll say is that it wasn't for me. Where's CJ when ya need him?

Kinda just trying to find what brands I prefer at the moment. Anyone have any recommendations for me based on what I already have tried or something I need to try.

Also I'm a big mountain dew drinker, what's the best snus to go with it in your opinion?

I've been keeping these all in the fridge, should I freeze snus I won't be using for a while or is the fridge fine?

Since you mentioned Wintergreen, I'd suggest General or Thunder Wintergreen. I can't say which one I prefer, because I don't like Wintergreen, but I can tolerate the Thunder Wintergreen, haha, so I'd say try both.

The good thing - snus is cheap, so you can try as much as you want and not break the back. Try as much as you can, and you'll begin to develop your own personal taste. We can make suggestions, but in the end it's up to you to determine what you like.

If you're going to snus then you need to atleast try plain old General and Ettan. Not using them is like someone new to dip not atleast trying plain old Copenhagen and plain old Skoal.

As Justin said, I agree. Two of the more mild ones that I've enjoyed (excluding Lucky Strike since we can't get it here) are LD White and General White (also General Sterk). So I would suggest trying those too, I really enjoy them. Ettan is also great, and very approachable. The "tried and true" flavors.

And I noticed a little over half your selections are flavored mixed up with non flavored, so that's a pretty good ratio. Most newbies (myself included) come to snus and immediately lean towards flavored, but a man much smarter than myself once said something to me about flavored snus, so, with that in mind I tried some more stuff, and as I grew in my snus journey I eventually found my way away from the flavored ones. Not to say I don't use them now, but I don't use them as often as I do "non flavored", and by non flavored I mean the traditional snus flavors, not to say they don't have flavor.

Your taste buds will change over time so the stuff you love right now might taste awful a month from now (and vice versa) You don't want to get stuck with a roll of something you only use a portion or two a week of.

As I said above with flavored snus, this will happen. My first few months it was about flavored minis, the next several months it was flavored regulars, then it was the Thunder Frosted phase until that burned out and I needed something different, so I began trying Non Flavored. After testing several, I came to General White, which I've used about 36 cans of (yes, I save my empties), and really enjoy. So your tastes will change. And some of my old favorites (like Thunder Frosted) I can't go back to as often because I burned myself out on them. So keep it varied, keep a selection, and you'll find your own taste!

I do mine the same way, have been doing it this way (although not as long as Sage) since March or April of last year, and I've been fine with it. The only thing I have in a ziplock is like 1 can of a special snus, but that's it.

Vac packed in a digitally controlled fridge at 2C for me. Seems to keep them perfect - and it's not a hassle for me as I already do a fair bit of vac packing with my brewing hops.
