Asshole Attraction
Cutting back on Snus usage

First, screw Harry, now to stay on topic, sage, I've never tried pipe tobacco, so I wouldn't know how it affects your daily nicotine levels etc, but I have tried just about every other form of tobacco (including a hukkah) I smoked for two years, dipped for almost a year, then got into snus. Now because of financial limitations one can of good snus lasts me about... Two weeks or so. Maybe a little less. I could even go without for a week if I needed to. So if you REALLY want to slow down your snus usage. Just be poor. Trust me, it works.

When I was really focusing on it, I was counting my portions every day, so almost the same thing.
JaKe, that was exactly my reasons. I am very limited on money right now, living off of unemployment. So for me to introduce a new tobacco in the mix, I had to take much of that money from what I was already spending. The less snus I use, the more money I have to build my pipe tobacco collection. Amazing what a little motivation can do. Have not cut my use beyond what I need to stay happy, just not using any more than I need to do that.
And Christi, thank you. Unfortunately, just my post count alone will sometimes draw the hate out. I have been in this role so long, so used to it occasionally popping up, I just deal and move on

For anyone just trying to save money, I'd recommend loose. If you have good self control and / or simply don't like large prises, it's easy to get 45 one gram portions out of a can of loose compared to 24 in a can of portions for the same price. Sure, it's less convenient and messier, but after a couple of weeks using loose I only would use portions when I had to for discretion. I've wrapped prises in very small amounts of coffee filters & single ply paper towels, and I've found it takes away almost all mess / teeth clogging without interrupting flavor or nicotine. Just my 2 cents...

My thoughts on this...
If you want to cut back, I would personally stick with nothing but the extra strong stuff.
When I was doing different flavors/sizes I could not regulate how much I "wanted". I had to stick with the same snus for at least 3 or 4 cans in a row. After the 2nd or 3rd can, the time between the snus decreased on it's own.
I didn't have to try. It just happened.
It is true that I don't do any of the other stuff (snuff, pipe, whatever) so that may have also helped regulate what I was doing.
Just my .02. I hope it's worth something to you.
:-)
