Average Pris Size?

As being new to snus, I am slowly increasing the size of the pris. I use the Icetool and started with just one notch. I want to make sure I dont over do it. Currently I am using a 1 ml pris (2nd notch). Just wondering what size pris you enjoy.

Also, as a pipe and cigar smoker, can anyone guess as to which delivers more nicotine, a medium body cigar (robusto size), a medium pipe with english blend, or a 1 to 2 ml pris. Thanks.

I generally go for about a 2ml pris - 4th notch on a 3ml icetool or something a bit stumpier in the 5ml icetool. As for nicotine delivery, I have no idea. I remember reading a paper about nicotine uptake from snus, but that was a while back now... I'll see what I come across and let you know.

Snus uses the same types of tobacco, that are used for cigarettes or pipe-tobacco, namely Virginia- and Kentucky-tobaccos. Cigar-tobbacos are different, but not stronger in nicotine.

The main difference is, that only one tenth of the nicotine of smoked tobacco gets into your blood. With snus, the full amount of nicotine can be resorbed, depending on how long you use a portion or pris. Overall, it's certainly a subjective matter, but I've never experienced a stronger nicotine-intocication, than with snus.

The good thing about cigarettes, cigars or pipes is, that the nicotine gets in your blood much faster, than with snus. So, you have to keep a pris of snus in your mouth for about 15 minutes, to get the nicotine, delivered from a cigarette in only 5 minutes. Though I don't smoke anymore, I still understand people, who prefer the fast nicotine-kick from smoked tobacco to a bigger, but more "long-time" kick.

Again, from my experience, the kick from snus is bigger, than from any form of smoked tobacco, you just have to wait a few minutes to feel it.

^ Completely agree. I remember the first portion I ever put in gave me a head buzz. I had been a smoker for over 5 years, and hadn't had that feeling for several years. Snus is the superior nic delivery system.

I haven't plunked down the $$$ (substitute for the currency symbol for your region ) for an icetool yet, and I'm still not all that hyped on the prismaster I did shell out for, so I'm mostly hand-baking. I've noticed that a mini-portion-sized pris seems to work best for me (evidently I'm only a bigmouth in the metaphorical sense) without crumbling on application. I'm really thinking of springing for the icetool, though.
