    Question on Long-Term Storage

I noticed that I have 25 cans left of General Los and the Best By date is June 6th.

Is it ok to leave in the fridge until im done or throw a few rolls in the freezer and take out as needed.

I just want to know the best method for keeping it moist and fresh.

I figure ill not be done with all the cans until sometime in july or early August.

I always keep my backups in a freezer bag inside the freezer. Better/worse? I don't know, it's the way I've always done it. I'm pretty happy with the results.

And have never ever bothered with a bag. I have just been throwing cans in the freezer as is for 2+ years

I have been freezing Skoal Long Cut Wintergreen for years. Depending on how good the sale was depended on how many I buy. I have frozen both the rolls as is. Sometimes the sales were two for the price of one and other times single cans. I tend to freeze in freezer bags, more for eas then anything else. That way I can grab one bag of 5 cans and move to the freezer in the house to grab as I need them. I carry one can in my backpack at all times that is the next to open when I need a new can. No change in freshness of or moisture content and some cans have been in the freezer for up to a year..

The biggest hazard of freezing anything is freezer burn. this is the dehydration of the item being frozen as the water is pulled to the surface and then oxidizes the product where the ice forms. Using things like freezer bags or vacuum packing lets you extend the time you can keep an item frozen. The longer you want to keep something frozen, the more you should do to ensure the product is protected from freezer burn.

That's exactly why I use freezer bags. I'd rather be on the safe side and spend $1.50 for an unlimited supply of keeping my snus safe.
