    Additions

Hello, This is my first post here, Names mike, been a hookah smoker for a couple of years and was recently introduced to snus and am now lving it.

Moving on to my question. I love Red Bull, hands down Im sure its now replaced my blood. If i boiled down Red Bull and added a few drops to my Portions and let em sit for a while, or added a few drops to the los I am purchasing would it make a difference or would the flavor be significant.

As well as maybe a few slices of fresh ginger or other aromatics in the tin with my portions would that make a taste difference, or does anyone do this as of now.

Well thank you for any info and this seems to be a great place.

    Re: Additions

Welcome to snuson Mike! Sagedil seems to be perfectly bespoke to answer your questions about Red Bull and energy snusing, and he'll love there being another hookah smoker on the forum

As to adding spices/flavours, I just wouldn't know. The swedish philosophy does seem to be 'less is more' though. I don't personally see the problem of adding a root like ginger in slices to snus, might be great. Would keep the snus moist too.

There is a vid somewhere on youtube, and I think on the northerner site about making cola snus, so I guess Red Bull wouldn't be a problem, but I'll leave this in the capable hands of the energymeister extraordinaire.

    Welcome again.

      Welcome to snuson SkrufyMike.

I have just recently smoked my first hookah, so coming the opposite direction as you.

if you are a Red Bull fan, I tell you that you simply must try Elyxr Power snus. It will taste like a**, even worse than Red Bull perhaps, but OMG, it is the most effective thing at waking me up and making me feel good that I have ever tried, and I too am a long, long time energy drink user. But Elyxr puts Red Bull to shame, it is that good.

But again, I must say, it does taste like a** so be prepared.

      And again, welcome.

opposite of flavoring your snus- there was a guy who posted on here not too long ago who would use his snus like a teabag, and make a crazy nicotine buzz drink. so that's an idea too, steep 1-however many snus bags in an energy drink... and wait for heart palpitations

          Welcome to the forums!

I remember adding some red wine to my julesnus over the Christmas break to keep it from drying out. It added a much more noticeable flavor to it that was previously more muted, and it kept it moister. Only used a few drops at a time so I didn't drown it and it still worked wonders. The same may hold true for Red Bull, but I haven't tried it. The ginger root sounds interesting, and could probably go well with a snus that's already somewhat peppery and spicy. If you do it tell me how it works out.

            many thanks

Wow many great replies very fast.

Sage hookah will grow on you, much like it did me. And I saw that Elyixr stuff on here before, but what if you boiled redbull down and just got all the water evaporated out and put a few drops on the portions or los and let it sit for a bit, maybe impart some taste to it.

Thank you everyone else for te fast replies and warm welcomes.

Im going to get some ginger root and toss a few slices in with my portions and keep a nose on it.

Maybe even a splish of jameson in with it as well.

And regarding the youtube video that was mentioned, it was quite funny but wouldnt that destroy the taste or anything.

I tried adding whiskey to Probe "Whiskey" and it just didn't work.

I at first added just a little bit and I still couldn't taste it, so I added a good amount. This turnedthe snus to a moist glob of mud. I left the can unopened overnight and it turned into a rock. I added MORE whiskey to remoisten it and was shaking the can and it flew out of my hands and broke, so I just threw it in the garbage WHERE IT BELONGS.

Probe "Whiskey" sucks. If you're going to put "Whiskey" in the name of something it damn well better taste like whiskey and not some nasty artificial sweetener that makes your mouth dry.

                Sorry for the rant

If you go to Northerner's site there are some videos there where the guy makes Cocacola Snus using a food processor and a strainer. Might work with Red Bull. Might work with whiskey too, just can't bring myself to do it for some reason. I'm sure it'd work better than just pouring liquids into your snus.

I have always wanted to try adding whiskey to snus, but I'm just trying to think of the best brand to use. I figure something that has a straight tobacco taste with no extra flavoring would be the ticket. I also think a coarse cut would be easier, so as to minimize "mud".

The last year's limited edition run of Kardus Superior blend was made using a small amount of single malt scotch and tasted sublime. It was very subtle and completely right for the fruity tobacco they used.

Probe on the other hand ... yes it's pretty horrible if you expect it to taste like whiskey!

Me and my fellow snusers often add a strong drink to our last (dry) snus.
                      We've had whisky-snus, absinth-snus, porto-snus, ricard-snus, you name it
The thing is that when it comes to booze a lot is not enough so the snus is literaly swimming in alcohol.
The first 3 minutes are real hard since al the 40°snus-juice slips in your throath but after the torture juice has passed it has a nice flavor

One of the main reasons was that we've only got general for 2 years and we got a bit bored of the flavor.

Just try experimenting with some snus (2-3) in an other can so you cant mess up a whole one

i mixed los with my coffee grinds when brewing a pot a few times, it was awesome. I have also tried steeping portions with tea, and texasmade is right don't knock it till you have tried it.

this thread has given me the idea of trying cola snus, or redbull cola snus. maybe just redbull snus would be fine.

                              hey

Well as soon as my order from northrner gets in ill be boiling down red bull until it becomes a thick syrup and applying a bit to a quarter tin of los and on a few portions. Im hopin it should impart many of its flavors onto the snus. Ive got 5 slices of ginger and 4 mint leaves in with some skruf cranberry.

i shall let you know how it goes. but does anyone have anyother aromatic suggestions or other things i could put in the tin to make the flavor better. well not better but yet to personalize it some more than it is already.
