New to Snus - first impression/practicality question

I have been using Skoal/Copenhagen on and off for almost 14 years. I just received my first order of snus in the mail. I ordered nine different cans and so far have tried the Offroad American Wintergreen and General Extra Sterk. Snus really burns when you first put it in!! I don't know if its because I am used to having a giant wad of snuff in my lip but I found that the flavor of the Offroad, both tobacco and wintergreen were gone within 15 or so minutes. The General seems to be lasting a bit longer I am currently on 20 or so minutes, still pretty tasty. Being a dipper I was a little apprehensive about swallowing the extra but so far so good I guess, throat burns a little but no nausea or anything.

I have all these cans I want to rotate and try to see what to include in my next order asap because it takes over a week to get it and I'm sure I will be almost out by then. My question is this, is it considered a huge taboo to make a mix can of a couple different flavors to take with me places? Would the flavors just ruin each other or whatever? What if there were some type of homemade divider in the can? Please let me know what you think. Thanks!

Some folks make a divider out of cardboard. One guy went all out and custom machined a can with dividers! You can also fit 4 or 5 in the top compartment if you know that you won't use it for spent portions.

First, welcome to the world of snus. The burn will go away soon, just have to get used to the salt mostly.

If you put a bunch of snus together, the flavors WILL run. I have done this on purpose before, but don't think that is what you are after just yet.

Welcome to snus-land, a happy place where your dreams become a reality (well, not really ). I remember that burn on the gums... wow it has been awhile hasn't it... The burn subsides after about 1 - 2 weeks of regular use, but it hurts like hell sometimes (at least it did for me). After regular use for a couple weeks you start to not feel it any more, and after 6 months you don't even notice you have a portion in, and after a year you can conceal a maxi portion without anyone noticing, including yourself .

I wouldn't mix multiple types in one tin myself - the flavors don't mix well. The pockets in my jeans are big enough to fit 2 - 3 cans at once, so often times I have multiple kinds on me (usually only because I can tell one is going to run out during the day, and another sterk for drinking after work ).

Generally though, it seems like a can will last the average snuser around 3 days, so 3 cans in your pocket is over a week's worth of snus . I've heard of converting an altoids can to hold multiple snus - I'm pretty sure a quick search on the forums would lead you to the instructions.

I take 3 or 4 cans to work in my backpack, but if I'm going our for a night or during the day, I don't personally find it necessary to take more than 1 can with a few portions of some other kind stashed under the 2nd lid.

Or, if it's not too problematic, you could wear cargo pants and put all your favorite cans in one pocket.
