Got to try some new (to me) snus today!

Okay, so I'm working late, and a little bored, so I thought I'd share with you all my snus adventure today. It's been a long time since I've had an exciting snus day like today.

There have long been several white portions I haven't tried. I kept meaning to order them, but then PACT started creeping up and I was stocking up on things I knew I like and before long my freezer was overflowing and I just couldn't allow myself to place another order.

Then recently I was able to convert a dipper friend of mine with copious amounts of Thunder Wintergreen. He finally asked me to place an order for him for a couple of rolls to call his own. So, I thought this would be a good time to throw in those remaing few brands I have yet to try. (freezer is still overflowing, but so what, It's been too damn long since I've tried something new!)

I was so happy when the box came today. It felt like the old days, when I was practically getting weekly shipments from getsnus or buysnus or northerner. For a while there, I was swapping out portions every half hour just to try the next one in line.

BTW, as I type this I have a nicely ice-tooled prilla of Gellivare in the lip:

The Gellivare is good, but for a "natural" flavor snus, I still think nothing beats Grov or Ettan. I haven't tried the Landstoms yet, but that's next. I saved what I thought would be the best, for last.

And the white portions, my fav of this batch is the GR#2. But I've only had one of each, so that may change...

    Woohoo! new snus!

Okay, I'll calm down now and get back to work...

Looks awesome! When I do eventually place a Northerner order I'll be sure to try out the Landstroms/Gellivare.

I see you have the aluminum icetools. I'm considering a stainless one over aluminum, do you have any opinion on the icetool material (other than aluminum ones being colored)?

The aluminum ones work great for me. I have read that some prefer the stainless, tighter tolerances perhaps, but I've never tried one so I dunno. I've got 5 aluminum ice tools and they all seem plenty tight to me. I have a 3mL/4mL/5mL at home, and I keep a 3 & 4 in my desk at work in that empty Camel frost tin you see there. I know, I'm sick in the head. Who buys 5 ice tools? ... must have been smoking something other than tobacco.

Edit to say... Oh yeah, one more thing. Speaking of stainless ice tools, I was saving up my northerner points to get those special edition stainless ice tools that said "The Northerner" on them or whatever it was, then this stupid PACT thing comes along and all that disappears. Frak!

Landströms and Gellivare are a couple of my favorite snuses. I like them because they're truly(I think) natural. Grov and Ettan have a fair amount of flavoring for a "natural" snus, while Landströms/Gellivare have minimal additives. I'd say the latter 2 are truer to snus' roots.

Yeah, I'm thinking the 3mL stainless tool, larger is too much for my lip. Good idea with the Camel frost tin, I'll keep mine around for future Icetool storage!

The Camel tin is a bit noisy when they rattle around, being made out of metal. Doesn't matter to me since it just sits in my desk. But, it will soon be replaced by an empty Gellivare (or Landstroms)...

If you're going to order some Gellivare/Landstroms anyway, might as well just go with that.

Lxskllr, I hear ya. It definitely seems like old-school snus. I've got the Landstroms in now, and I like this one too. I just can't say I'd choose this over Grov, but I've got a long way to go before I finish off these two tins. I'll have to do a side by side taste test...

Besides, who says you have to pick just one. Variety is the spice of life! These will definitely be in the rotation...

The Goteborgs Rape #2 is one of my favorites and in one of my top 5 rotation, But for me at least not an all day snus.
The Nick and Johnny white is also very good and didn't think at first that it was as good as the Op and now wish i had ordered more than the one can I'm working on now from a previous order with my recent order of 5 Nick and Johnny Strong OP

Thanks Jag. Can I call you Jag? (I kid)

Yeah, I'm liking the #2. I have a shite load of the original Gote Rape in the freezer. Got a bunch of it at a buck a tin a while back during whatshisname's going out of business sale. I like that one a lot too, but it's no good for me with coffee, and I drink a lot of coffee.

Yeah!! You can call me jag i prefer it, I haven't tried the original Gote Rape how different is it to #2? I didn't order it or think I would like original Gote Rape because I don't want to have it taste like pine needles. I always hated gin and thought it tasted like pine needles

It's very different from #2, which is a lot fruitier and maybe a bit sweet. "#1" is more bitter, but not in a bad way.

I hate gin too, but I like the snus. It is flavored with the same stuff as gin, but it must be the lack of alcohol, it's not nasty like gin. I don't get pine needles, but I can definitely taste the juniper berry. Like I said though, it makes my coffee taste funky.

You have to try it, it's a classic. PM me your address, and I'll send you a tin from the stash...

I am craving a Gote Rape 2 right now. If they sold it at Super America I would put some pants on and get in my buick.

I mostly handbake now, but I wouldn't mind having an icetool again. :P
