Has anyone ever tried this stuff? I just received a can today and there was absolutely no seal on it. Is this how it comes? I'm an American any everything we buy here, you have to usually cut safety seals off of everything from deoderant to dog vitamins!

Harry - Do not take this personally, but I have some reactions to your message.
1) From my experience with this message board, it has only most recently become American-dominant. There used to be much more of a mix of posters. I looked at that global map thing recently and was shocked to see all the Americans. I say this to you as an American who has paid attention to where people are from. I seem to recall a time when there were only about five or six of us, for better or worse. If I correctly recall, the now defunct Snus Forum probably had even fewer Americans.
2) I think it would be hasty to call Roots snus 'geared toward Americans'. Roots has been for sale on Northerner snice before I made my first snus order - and that was nearly two years ago. This was before Camel snus even came out - at a time when 'snus' was totally unknown in this country. In fact, one might argue that it still is more or less.
My first impression of the Roots line was that it was geared toward the younger snuser since they had flavors like pilsener, berry, lime, etc. Mind you, I have never tried it, and am not interested in doing so, but my point is that we should not confuse youth culture with strictly American culture. I think it neglects the uniqueness of other cultures to say something is 'Americanized' or otherwise without bearing in mind that most likely, the tobacco company produced this snus with nothing of the sort in mind.
I am far from anti-American, but the administrators of this message board, as well as many long-time prolific posters on this site, are not American. Let's just bear in mind that there are many others out there who have different views of the world.

Oral tobacco users in America fit the demographic that cozies right up to Offroad.

Fair enough. I certainly was not trying to admonish an American palate or degrade our country and it's tendencies.
I've only been reading this forum since October of 07. I have only been using snus since August of 07.
Perhaps I was too hasty in my post as I have seen recently that several of our most active posters are generally middle American.
I guess I was skipping a step in the logic where I went from highly flavored snus to American Palate. Perhaps I should have referenced American smokeless tobacco before I moved straight to the palate on which it is administered. I along with many others were happy to have found snus and have then moved on to demean the product that we previously had enjoyed. We have seen the light!
If you found any hint of offense toward others in or out of the US, I sincerely apologize. I guess I'll have to be more vigilant with my sensitivity.

maybe it's because i'm still new to snusing but i gotta say, i really liked this stuff when i tried it a few months ago. it's got a real nice mellow berry flavor that doesnt mask the tobacco taste. it's got a pretty good nicotine kick as well (btw, i thought the old name "kicks" was much more fitting), get two portions in there and you're flying lol. i'll definitely get another can of this sometime. but for now i'm trying to pick out different brands with each order to broaden my palate.
