It's funny, for so long the USD has been kicking the stuffing out of the AUD. It's almost affordable for an Aussie to go on a holiday to America at the moment! For the first time in... Well, I'm too young to remember it being any different because our dollar has for a long time been worth 60 - 75 US cents but yes.
I imagine the war is playing a large part in this? I read Bush has approved yet even more funding for the bloody thing. Christ.

I agree, US economic policy has screwed over the USD.Before long, I suspect other countries will sell USD's for toilet paper.
Here's a rather informative video about money and the federal reserve (which happens to have Ron Paul on a couple of statements):

it's old and all 90's-lecture-video-looking...but still interesting nonetheless
here's a couple more vids with Ron Paul giving the fed some hell:

What other candidates out there know their stuff on fixing the dollar without requiring a bunch of advisers?
Anyway, back on topic....Offroad portion tins come in real tins. I don't know if they're technically TIN, but they're metal nonetheless. Limited edition offroad portions don't though. I'm not sure if they changed it recently to plastic, but my offroad cranberry and original strong portion tins are metal that I received back in september.

Yeah, I know, it's hard to believe, for me too, but this REALLY happened and the Federal Reserve Bank nowadays does not act much different than the Reichsbank did between 1919 and 1923.
Cheers!

I just didn't know if they would charge customs on the tin as it's a seperate product. Thanks for letting me know your experiance. I agree, US economic policy has screwed over the USD.Before long, I suspect other countries will sell USD's for toilet paper.

Well, I dunno if this is what you mean, but I ordered the stainless steel Icetool Snusbox from buysnus and I couldn't be happier. I have a thread about it.
It cost me about $40 (oh god what is the exchange rate now that the USD is worthless?) but I really didn't have to pay any customs on it. Just the snus. It is very pretty and it is now my precious.

An idea for a new tin
Just what the thread says on the tin, if it came in a tin, which it doesn't, but it should because tin is cool!
Now that I have my favorite joke out of the way, if there are any marketing people out there, I hope they read this. I had an idea for a new generic snus tin.
Perhaps someone should market a hermetically sealed insulated snus tin. Maybe call it the Thermos tin.(plastic I guess would be the logical choice) If I can find a small one, I've actually considered buying a small thermos to store snus tins in.
The stainless steel ones are nice that they sell at northerner.com but a bit pricey. I want one but haven't ordered one yet because I'm not sure if I'll have to pay customs on it. Does anyone know? It would suck to drop that much cash on a nice tin then get bent over at customs for it without any Vaseline.
I also like collecting either the lid, or the tins of tobacco products I try. Weird hobby I know, but interesting memories.Of course, it would also be neat to find a tin that is actually made of tin.
