    Does BAT Manufacture Mocca?

Does British American Tobacco actually do the manufacturing for Fiedler & Lundgren's Mocca line?

I was watching a video from BAT's website showing snus production, and couldn't help but notice that the tins they were filling looked remarkably like tins of Mocca mint snus. The video is online at:
    http://www.bat.com/group/sites/uk__3...nt&SKN=1&TMP=1

The first thing I noticed upon opening a tin of Mocca pomegranate was that the mini portions were perfect in terms of presentation. Plump, tight little portions instead of the off-center-square-in-a-sack I get from Swedish Match minis, or the random-wad-of-snus-in-a-bag feel of Skruf/Knox minis. The only other time I've seen mini portions that uniform were in Lucky Strike Mini.. which is what got me headed to the BAT website.

So if BAT makes Mocca, do they also make the rest of F&L's line (i.e. Diplomat)? I tried using their Contact Us page on flsnus.se to ask, but couldn't get it to submit the comment.

It does raise the question, though, of exactly which snus makers are really making snus, and how many are simply paying other companies to produce it. This is very common in the US with bourbon whiskey products.. a handful of distilleries actually produce the whiskey for dozens and dozens of different labels.

Of course, it may also just be another purple product of BAT's, or may be a case where BAT owns the portion-filling machines and F&L is just paying them to stuff & package the product.

its because it is Fiedeler og Lundgreen who produces the Lucky Strike snus. They simply hired to manufact for the company.

Oh, that makes perfect sense.. so the video must be of F&L's facility, not BAT's..

Interesting info - That would explain why they taste so good

I'm not sure of anything, but it sounds like a plausible explanation to me.

I guess there are three options: (a) the tin in the video isn't Mocca mint, (b) BAT decided to get into the snus market and hired F&L to make Lucky Strike snus for them, reusing a well-known brand, or (c) F&L outsourced production/fulfillment to BAT.

If anyone cares, and speaks something more useful than English, I guess they can call F&L and ask. Or try to get the Contact Us form to work for them.. it's not in English, and I couldn't get it to work for me (just guessing at what the buttons did)...
