i only use los...but i can't:
-laugh hard, the stuff just falls out and i can't stop it.
-hillbilly pinch, gotta bake it good
-pinch snus w/o putting the can down...almost lost a full can trying to do this
-put a can in my backpocket, the fiberboard just gets crushed

I agree with you. I like los better than portions as well, but for those exact reasons you mentioned above is the reason why I use portions when outside of the house. I do prefer los, but the portions do get the job done till I get home and can bake a pris of wonderful los. Check out some of the other brands portions. If you like strong, check out Thunder Frost ES portions, Skruf Stark White (The BEST Skruf in my opinion), and Skruf ES portions.

i was amazed with how strong the general regular portions where...i was expecting a bandit sorta minor kick...my cope using friend can barely hack the mini portions

What flavors are you interested in?

i also mostly use los and largely prefer it, but use portions at work. though thats only because i work in food service, and have to keep it on the dl. if i were you i wouldnt bother with portions either. i cant hillbilly pinch either. never have gotten it down. as far as not putting the can down, just open it, grab some, put it in the palm of your hand, close up the can and pocket it, leaving the hand with the snus upright, then just bake it quick and throw it on your tongue and slam it up into your lip. as far as the fiberboard cans, thats just swedish match's stupid deal, its stupid and i hate them a little for it. use skruf, gotlands, phantom. gotland cans are nigh indestructible. i also cant laugh hard. theres issues with los, but its just far superior in comfort and getting your moneys worth.

I think with time and practice you'll be able to overcome all of those issues, except maybe the can in the back pocket thing. Like daruckis said, try more plastic cans, and try Odens Extra Sterk! I insist. Once you get the hang of the pinch and toss method, it will be great for your line of work and suit your ex-dipper sensibilities.

I'm also surprised that your cope buddy gets such a kick from minis. I use 100% strong portions (but plenty of regular strength los) and a lip full of Cope definitely gives me the N, but minis don't do shit for me.

multi-decade on and off skoal fine cut user, never a cig smoker.
tried the general portions and the rest loose:
-grov (currently my fav love this stuff holds together like a champ)
-phantom classic and brown (great stuff bulletproof value, more durable can, proly will be my standby with the a few grov cans in the freeze)
-general (great taste, good hit, but it falls on me and i eat it)
-the v2 xmas snus...not bad, nothing i'd use daily, but every now and then i think
-ettan (lost the can after one lower lip attempt)
-same with skruf and GES
-offroad wintergreen (fun at first when i was dipping it, now that i upper lip it never will buy it again lost my taste for wintergreen)

and that's about it i think

glad to hear youre liking grov, i figured that would be up your alley.

another i forgot to recommend in my last post was ld los. its a great bergamot snus, better than general and skruf in my opinion. also the cut makes it easy to bake. and plastic can ftw.

ive yet to try gustavus los, but have a can in the freezer, and gustavus is my second favorite portion (next to ld) so im ready with the recommendation soon.

You just gotta keep doing it. When I was a young boy and started the whole snusing business and had the same problem my dad used to say "It's worst the first five years". witch is kinda true.

well i've mastered the out of the can pinch.
works better in the plastic cans, the cardboard i get too many wax flakes (wax and fiberglass oh noz !!!@#)
it was fun handbaking it, but way too messy and drawn out.
v2 stuff and grov works great like this...i just mash it against the side of the can and bam.
first swallow is a little harsh but all good afterthat.
any snuss you just can't do this with?
