I just wanted to let you all know this is one of the most interesting threads I have read for a while on here! It is interesting to get the impressions from others here that we spend time with online, I seem to know more about what people like here than any other site.
I am able to gauge a snus flavor appeal to whether a certain person likes or dislikes something. Most newbie posts have nothing to offer from that standpoint, and it seems there is no substitute for just having to under go the inevitable process of ever changing tastes, it's unfortunate, but unavoidable. It has been interesting watching tastes mature in many users, (Chad), (and Myself).
A frank and the sober discussion of what role sterks play in our addiction, and marketplace, is a breath of fresh air. I use them for flavor, and occasionally for kick, but have to wonder about all the product focus on them. I do know that chasing the nicotine Dragon is fruitless, or at least a short term goal.
I guess that whatever it takes to get market share in the US is game, but I would like to see some stability in the brand lines. I suspect that the US market will be the subject of all manner of manipulation and opportunity, although it is a wonder as to what manner of thinking goes into serving it. There are so many forces at work just from a legislative aspect.
The shear numbers of flavors coming and going are a wonder, it has hurt to lose a favorite, and it hurts to hear that some one else has lost theirs. And one thing that blows my mind is why a great snus like Lucky's just doesn't produce a parallel line of product renamed for the US, The thinking and marketing decisions are so interesting. Thanks for allowing this mindless mini rant, I just wanted to compliment all for a trully pertinant and mature subject and comments! Now stay tuned for some immature reply"s!!! ( can you tell I have been on here for a while?).wiki "Popcorn Sutton" a true COOT!

The only ES that I am using now on a daily basis is Thunder Frosted.
I should have just gotten the mini's because they did just fine, but decided for the full on ES, oh well.
Most of the day, the past week anyway, I have been using 70% Regular, 30% ES. The Thunder goes in first thing when I wake up..maybe another portion before lunch, one after lunch, and 2-3 more in the afternoon/evening. It is also the only thing flavored I use, for the most part. I have been dabbling in the can of OR/CV and choc rasp I have but mostly it is all the plain, light lemony flavored ones that I am picking.
I could live w/o ES, but I enjoy it.

Feels good to have created a good discussion with my vodka inspired, rambling post
I've found myself developing kind of a phobia of high nic snus. I use them, but only keep them in for a relatively small time, no matter if they drip or not. Makes me feel like I'm overloading my heart or something. Guess I need to bite the bullet and pick out regular snus for my next order.
It's amazing how the snus "landscape" has changed in the small amount of time I've been aware of it. I feel like it has lost its humble, yet grand Swedish image and instead become "EXTREME!!!" as if snus was energy drinks. In orther words, its like if haughty, "British" dry nasal snuff started getting marketed to 20 year old hipsters in NY. I mean no offense, just trying to illustrate the situation.

They need to concentrate on making snus taste good. Nobody "needs" starks. You don't have to dose yourself to the point of puking to quit cigs. It isn't "cool" to use high nic(this isn't high school anymore), it's just pointless. All the people that are dropping out of the stark race because they're "off the cigs now", would have done that anyway. You're off the cigs because you're used to snus. It didn't take starks, it took a change of mind for snus to be your hobby, your buddy, your comfort during stress... Cigarettes filled that roll for years, and it's hard giving up the psychological aspects that quickly. All it takes is time, not an overdose of chemicals....

I believe skoal edge is the stronger variant, I'd never touch the stuff.
I disagree with any anti sterk sentiment. I find general extra sterk has a greater flavor than the original portions. I still primarily use original strength portions and find them sufficient in most respects (drinking alcohol is certainly an exception), but when I do use a sterk, it typically lasts longer. Why not throw a potentially better tasting, more economical product in the mix?

The only stark I use regularly is the Taboca Mini + and IMO this is where the stark market needs to go, especially in the US.
Minis.
Extreme discretion for those who fear the stigma of oral tobacco use in this country coupled with a 6-8 mg hit of nicotine.
It seems a winner to me, especially if one of the companies making mini starks would put 30 in a tin selling for a reasonable price.
As for large starks 11 mg/g to 17mg/g, I have no desire to even try them. I tried the GES los once and didn't even finish the can.
*The Thunder frosted mini is good and I do have a can on hand but I prefer the flavor of Taboca.
