As far as my portion use goes Claq Qui is in my top 5.

I can understand it being discontinued though. It's unique flavor did make it something I could not use constantly. After a few cans of something different it was a welcome return to come back to!

I ordered a roll of Claq Qui and General Maxi today. I had points with Buysnus, liked both brands, and just cashed my check.

They will take a while to go through for me.

TANGENT timoteo and others have made comments recently that I don't understand. I never experience quality issues freezing snus. i wonder sometimes if the "frost free" mechanism of some freezers and refridgerators is causing these issues for some people? just a wild thing that's nagging me. I do love a fresh can of snus, but honestly can't discern a difference when i have a very old can out of my freezer..END TANGENT

i dont know anything about frost free mechanism, but i dont think mine has one, cause things are all frosted up in my freezer.

maybe claq qui is just a snus ive grown very tired of. idk.

        ahha!

        I don't know..

        lol

You were just the latest person I notice mention it. i finally have had time today to be here and your point is very well delivered.

I agree that there may be consequences to freezing snus. I've had luck so far.

I will not mourn Claq Qui very long.. I was more upset by the loss of n&J West.

SM did roll out one hell of a red carpet initially to then turn around and kill Claq Qui so soon huh!?!

Better stock up on the N&J black too. Never know but it seems at risk as well.

Also, I think I remember my freezer is frost free and I don't notice any difference in my frozen snus until I have had one open for a long time. Then they start to get dried out but when I open the next one it seems fresh. The frozen snus does seem a little dry to the touch, compared to warm snus but after 10 seconds in my lip its totally the same. I can tell the biggest difference with los. When I open a new can it is noticeably more moist then the end of the last one. I use snus more slowly then most so I would think that negative freezer effects would be more pronounced for me then most.

RRK, I have a roll in the mail, and I'll be ordering at least a couple more in the next few months. I figure I have at least 6 months before they kill it.

"Frost Free" freezers are certainly an issue if you try to keep yeast in the freezer (which i do for brewing) - the temp cycling will kill it quickly. Not quite sure if the same principle applies to snus, but I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't help.

Long term storage for me is vac packed at 2C.

Hmm. I didn't care much for Claq Qui at all. But it's still a bit surprising. I thought it was quite a bit more popular than it apparently was.

I don´t even know if this was widely sold in Sweden, never saw it around, so might have been a Norway and web-store thing.

Introducing new snuses is hard in Sweden, and many people just buy what is cheaper nowadays except for those old-timers stuck with their General, Grov and Ettan, from the glory days when snus was cheaper then dirt.

The day my favorite brands get discontinued is the day Swedish Match goes bankrupt.
