Snus is more green than cigarettes!

At work I go outside with the smokers sometimes. (even not smoking, you still need to take a smoke break! ) A few weeks ago I threw a used snus a little under the trailer with all of the cig. butts. The snus is all but gone, where as the butts are still there.

    Go Green! Snus!

I have to chime in because I spat out a portion outside at work that's been there since spring. Its been laying on a metal grating stairs, its completely white and dried up.

And when the snow melted after winter last year the outside workplace was littered with my portions that eventually washed away into the sewers.

Not green! a bird probably stole it!

Last spring once the snow melted I saw all the portions in the grass that I had spat out next to the drivers side of where I parked my car.

It looked like I dumped a big ashtray out.
Wife was pissed and made me rake and bag them.

          Not so green.

But they are just paper and tobacco right? I guess you can define "green" different ways but certainly cigarette butts are a plastic product and snus portions are organic.

Also, temperatures cold enough for snow would keep the micro organisms away and would essentially preserve the portion until everything thawed. The real test would be to add some snus portion and cigarette butts to your compost pile and see what is left at the end of a summer.

im pretty sure that down below the mason dixon it gets a little hotter which will speed along decomp and in minnisota(****ed spelling) the warmest is gets in the summer is the high 80s maybe low 90s... Virginia regularly sees high 90s and low 100s in the summer and im sure Alabama is hotter

Yea but I hear snus can do some pretty funky stuff to worms.

Somebody needs to hunt down that old post.

I'd rather have old portions of snus in my yard than cig butts.

What's wrong with cigarette butts? It's only the filters that are nasty and non-biodegradable. I never used filtered cigarettes in all the years that I smoked. Anyone who really needs to smoke filtered tobacco should get one of those non-disposable cigarette holders or something.
