Ummm....Sort of like a realy salty version of Diplomat (bearing in mind Diplomat is already quite salty to me)...

It's got the V2 taste. I've only had the limited edition set, but the Phantom has the same kind of back taste that the limited has. Fairly salty, and an almost synthetic sweetness that I can't quite put my finger on. I don't think it's the brand for me, but I have 2 cans to fully make up my mind.

Addendum:
There's some other flavors going on there that I'll like part of the time and dislike other times. It's both herbal, and floral alternating between the 2. I think I like the herbal taste, but not so much the floral. It's interesting in any case. I haven't really had anything else quite like it. You can definitely tell it's a V2 product though.

The Phantom I ordered finally arrived today and I actually quite like it. It's got a sweetness to it, but it isn't overwhelming (at least not to me). Lost of flavors going on, actually. It's got sweetness, tobacco taste similar to the Offroad Longcut Original, saltiness, a wee bit of herbal/floral quality.

Honestly, this stuff is definitely worth a try. The taste doesn't reflect the low price I paid for it.

As far as cheap snus goes, I'll stick with Kronan for loose and Phantom for portion. I couldn't handle the Kronan portion. Only snus I've had in a long time that actually burned.

Have you tried Knox? So far my #1 cheap snus - both loose and portion.

(Sorry if you've wrote it elsewhere, been away for a while and its frigging hard to catch up in here - which is good! Many new snusers!)

Oh, Knox, I forgot about Knox. I'll have to add it to my list of brands to try. A lot of people here seem to regard it highly.

Knox is great for the price. Haven't tried the portions, but the lös is very reminiscent of Skruf (for obvious reasons once you see who produces Knox ), IMO. It seems pretty much to be a pure tobacco with not much in the way of outside flavorings (maybe a touch of citrus). I'm not recalling very well, because the tin I bought is now empty and hosting my icetool.

ObOnTopic: Provided USPS decides Wednesday isn't just "Let's dump second notices on jqlynch" day, I might have a half-assed gut reaction to Phantom to post by the end of the day. Given that it's Halloween and the kids need their candy fix, it might need to wait until 11/1. :P
