Grov Svart (Black) Review

First let me state that HATE GROV. I would rather consume an entire roll of Level then take one more Grov White portion or a pris of the los. Grov Black though is an amazing snus. It's a sterk, comes in the black portions, and reminds me of a bowl of Coco Puffs after they've been sitting in milk for a little bit. Thank you Chad for this can, you have won me over with this snus. It goes amazingly well anytime of the day, with any kind of beverage. Coffee, water, beer, it doesn't matter. I taste chocolate, not overpowering, but subtle. (like milked down Coco Puffs) The salt taste is hardly noticeable. I would recommend this snus to anyone.

Wow. Level? That's kinda harsh, man. :wink:

I like Grove Black a lot though. It's pretty strong, very rich flavor, I can't do more than one can of it in a row. But it's good stuff.

I couldn't stand the Grov los. I just gave away a whole can minus 1 pris to a member. At least with the Level I could keep it in longer then 10 mins. The black though, will def. be in my rotation for a while.

Does it have a licorice flavor like other blacks? Keep in mind I've never had a black so I'm not sure they all taste like licorice.

That is strong dislike - Maybe it's just me, but I thought Grov was fairly similar in taste to General. Just slightly less salty tasting with a bit of a pepper/smoke flavor. I prefer Grov out of the two. Different strokes for different folks.

Maybe it's the smoke flavor I don't care for. No it doesn't taste like Licorice. The only black I've had that does is LD Black. Onyx is lemony, and Grov taste like coco. Kinda weird.

I get a slight licorice flavor from it and a little bit of vanilla maybe. Hard to put my finger on exactly what is there, but, somehow, the flavor seems rich and subtle at the same time to me. I'm not really a licorice fan, but I kinda like Grov Svart. That being said, it's definitely not an everyday snus for me.

How's the 01 and 02?

Haven't opened the 02 yet, but the 01 is very good. I love the no drip and shape of the portion. The flavor is good too. SM has a winner with this one.

I think there may be just a *touch* of Anise in it. But only a touch, and I'm not even sure about it. Might be a good question for Markus and Joakim.

The dominant flavor is vanilla. Kind of a rich, dark vanilla leathery tobacco-y taste.
