    Ettan Pris Turns to Mush

I like the taste of Ettan. However, I can't get a long lasting pris with it from my Icetool. Within minutes it turns very soft and oozes onto my teeth. Is this common amongst Ettan users?

Ettan is a very salty brand, that easily soaks up saliva. The best use is, to form a very tight pris and to leave it totally alone, preferably as near to the front-teeth, as possible.

But well, that's the traditional Swedish way. Since I really love, to poke the prillas with my tongue, and to place them a bit more towards the cheek, I have the same problems, that you have, so I just put the prillas in place again with my tongue, when they start to get 'runny'.

    Cheers!

I had the same problem as you when I first sank my gums into the glory of Ettan Lös. But chainsnuser is exactly right. You've got to bake it really, really tight and leave it alone as best you can. The flavor may take a little bit longer to reveal itself this way, but if you just leave it alone and let it run its natural course, the flavor will come and your pris won't collapse. Just yesterday I had a pris of Ettan in for over an hour and it barely ran at all. I felt very accomplished.

ettan is a demanding snus to use.
But the revards are great when you get the trick.

bake it tightly, and don't lick and touch it too much.
As other posters have said before me.

Thanks for that info. I baked a big pris in the icetool and placed it straight above my front teeth. Made my mouth look strange, but it lasted almost 1 hour before becoming too liquified. Looks like Etten is strictly for home use, because I can't be a work with a huge pris in my front teeth.

I had an Ettan pris in for an hour and a half today before it started going liquid. You'll get the hang of it eventually.

If it helps at all, I had it slightly right of center. I always put the pris either slightly left or right of center. Dead center is uncomfortable and I find it a lot easier to control the loose when it's still in front, but slightly off to either side. Try this if you haven't already. Ever since I've fallen into this groove, I won't have my loose any other way.

Don't put snus in the middle. The little string-thin you have there will not like it in the long run. Right or left of it are the common ones. Remember that snus corrodes. Use one spot for a few days and then change spot.

Once I was able to keep it for 2½ hours before it started to go liquid. Still to this day I'm not sure how I managed to do that. Normally I keep it from 45 minutes to 1 hour. Ettan is great stuff, I must say.

Two and a half hours? Jeebus, that's insane. The longest I've ever had a loose in was and unintentional 4 hours with a lip full of Goteborgs Rape. Reason being, I fell asleep. I woke up and somehow it was still in perfect shape. Go figure.

But seriously, you should feel very accomplished. The day I can keep a pris of Ettan in for over two hours is the day I can truly call myself a pris master.
