    Jakobsson's Classic

Is it just me, or is this just "not good"?

I have one in now, and tried one yesterday for the 1st time. And it's just not good. Bitter and high salt, and I don't get anything else.

Any fans of this here? Am I missing something?

I like it a lot, but I prefer Gotland Gul which has a similar flavor. Gotland snus does tend to be on the bitter side. Some people enjoy that, but those that don't, really don't :^D If you took Gotland Gul off the board, Jakobsson's Classic would be my favorite citrus based portion.

Citrus? Hmm, I am not getting that. I'll try and finish what I have(1 open, and 1 sealed), maybe it will change on me.

It leans more to the orange side as opposed to lemon like most snus is. It's also been described as having a beery taste, and I agree with that. I suspect they may use hops in the blend, but I don't know that for a fact.

I like it now and then. It gets hard to finish the end of the can.

I detest the Ice Fruit though. :x

I really enjoy Jakobssons classic. If I have it with my morning coffee it reminds me of McD's breakfast with coffee and orange juice. Very tasty IMO.
Gul tastes cleaner, but I get more orange than lemon with Classic.
I wouldn't call the Gotlands line "acquired taste", but their flavors seem to be "like it or leave it". I have yet to meet a Gotlands flavor I don't like. But if it's not for you, it's not for you.

I just got my first can of it today, so I will try it tomorrow. I like orange flavors though.

I don't like it much....compared to Gotlands' other offerings. I do agree that Icefruit is a lot worse, though. Classic is a very occasional order for me, when I want to take a break from my regulars.

I received two cans of Classic in my very first snus order. Did I mention I hate licorice? It's a good snus, but the flavor for me was awful. Between those two and a can of Elixyr in that order almost ended my snussing before I even got stared. (Same order included 2 cans of Probe, another one I won't use again.) Thank G*D there was some Ettan in there.

I much prefer Gotlands brand snus over the Jakobbsons.

I was excited about Classic when it came out. I thought it was interesting when I tried it. Halfway through the first can it turned on me and I decided I couldn't finish it for love or money. This is the only snus of the general (small or large g) type that I can't stomach.

I just tried my first one today. The post about it tasting like McDonalds breakfast is true. I had it with coffee, and it was very good. It went sour after about 45 minutes, (which is how Icefruit is for me) but it was a decent run before that. Not an all day snus, but I could keep a can laying around for occasion.

As a follow up, I have found this actually gets better with usage. The first time, it seemed so salty and bitter. But then later I did another. It was almost like doing snus for the 1st time. It was better each time. I had one this morning with coffee, and it was not bad. Today I have exclusively used it. The high salt and bitterness has mellowed alot. I still am not getting any orange, but it's OK. I don't think I'd order it, but I think I'll use what I have. To me, it's better, OK, but it seemed I had to use a few in a row to get used to it. I have one in now.

Gotlandssnus' foundations are built on three generations of snus experience, with the first snus on Gotland being produced in 1741. Using Alida tobacco, grown on the island of Gotland, in every one of their snus brands gives their snus a unique flavor that can only be found in Gotlandssnus.

Gotlandssnus is also the first ones to create a Christmas time snus, Julesnus, that's been a favorite since it's inception in 2003. Below is a list of the brands they produce

I recently got a very special shipment of snus from a Swedish friend. It was 50g each of Gotland Fläder, and Gotland PLAIN!
