[Review] Thunder Frosted - Mini's

Short version: Hot damn these are good!

Long version:

I got 4 cans in the mail today (6 business days from Northerner.com FTW!)

I took the package out of the mail box and was immediately hit by the strong mint smell even before I dug into it like a jonsing crack fiend.

The Tin:

They are typical mini tins. Cute as a button!

The Contents:

There are 20 mini portions per tin and they are regular mini sized. The portion material is typical V2 fare. I did notice quite a few loose strands of portion material at the ends of some portions.

They smell like freaking heaven to me. They almost made me cry when I stuffed my nose in the tin. No Xobe, it's not because I am an emotional guy, the mint is that strong

The Snus:

This is what Camel Frost should have been. Lightly sweet, minty and tasty as all hell. There isn't too much burn and the nicotine is definitely there.

The flavor is still going after an hour with very little dripping.

I really like spearmint as a flavor and V2's subtle sweetness matches this flavor perfectly. Not overstated, but it is a sweeter snus compared to most others.

Conclusion:

I have been on a GB #2 kick for the the last 6 months alternating between a few others occasionally and I see this as a normal use snus for me. I am still too nervous to try the normal portions of Thunder Frosted mainly because of the extra nicotine. General Sterk and Claq Qui is a bit too much for me most of the time.

I'll have my wife try it tonight and see what she thinks of it. She almost exclusively uses Camel Frost so I'm curious as to what she will think about them.[/b]

I just got a can of these, and to me, they are so so OK. I think the negative to me, is they are mini, and for me, usually minis are not as flavorful. The flavor I do get is good. Kinda sorta reminds me of Tourney Spearmint, but these are way better. I think the deal with minis to me, is what I mostly get, is the portion taste. Now the regular size ones, I think I would like alot more.

What are they comparable to? General mini mint, Catch peppermint, Mocha mini mint? I'm placing an order tonight and I'm trying to decide between 2 cans or 4 of the Thunder. Thanks.

It's been a while since I had General Mini Mint, but to me, these seem less flavorful. Was mini mint any sweet? These are not, which is good.

If I had to choose something that they were most like I would say Mocha mini mint, but with a real amount of nicotine. All of Mocha's snus has a weird artificial sweetness to them, where as the thunder mini doesn't.

I normally don't do minis, but I'd like to try these just to compare the nicotine hit to the regulars.

I'm not a mini fan, I think it's the mini size, and how it feels. I have a Tre Ankare mini in now... and what I'm getting I like... but it's only making me wish it was large portion. I'm curious about maxi portion too. I just don't get enough flavor with a mini.

Ok, I did a Thunder Frosted Mini, and it was OK to me, I just don't get anough real flavor with a mini. But it was not bad. Then a little later, I did a General Mini Mint to compare. Well, the General was way more sweet, and strong flavored, mint flavored with some sweet... and I didn't like it, and the spot I had the portion in retained that flavor long after I took it out. So, in that regard, I prefer the Thunder mini.

I just got 5 cans in a shipment form Northerner today myself! I popped one in and went for a 2 mile hike with the wife and dog along the C&O towpath. Perfect size, still hits pretty hot and spicy, but a lot more manageable. Flavor does not quit, had one in for two hours, nic hit is perfect. I could not take the overwhelming hit from the regular portion, but this is what I was looking for as far as a going out in public snus is concerned. Mu favorite mini for sure. Try em and see, we just need GETSnus to stock em.

I got some last week and I'm well pleased. I still like the full-sized portions best, but this little mini fits certain situations better.

I like these alot. They are the only Mini I have ever liked. Sometimes I dont Need 16mg Of nic I am getting use to the size. On my drive to work I double Barrel them with a Mini-mint (keep getting them free from Getsnus mystery can) for a Sweet minty sterk.

I think I'm just not a mini fan, but I do like the Thunder more than the General Mini Mint, as the General is too flavored, and even after the portion is out, I get that flavor in that spot for a long time.

I am finding these to be extremely pleasant snus. So small with a well balanced flavor, the flavor lasts forever. The smaller nic hit is nice, like I said the big brother portion was too much, but this one is just the right size and taste for a going out snus.

Does anyone know when the Thunder Original mini will be released? I've seen it on the V2 website but its not in any of the stores yet.

Personally, I am not fan of any mint flavoured snus but I'd be keen to try the Original in a mini for when I need to be super discreet (and the world really needs more tobacco flavoured minis)
