Anyone use Lös 100% of the Time?

The only time I don't use los is if I have to travel or will be in meetings. Basically anytime an ashtray is needed. I just don't enjoy portion flavor as much.

Besides my morning grov svart I use loose at all other times. I assume pretty much the only 100% loosers are die hard Swedish and Scandinavian traditionalist types. I've never met an American 100% looser.

I wish I could. I almost decided to try and use loose at work today but I got a lot of portions to work through.

The problem I had with using loose at work was disposal. Now I just stay from the fine grinds (prima fint) while at work. A pris usually lasts me over an hour. I try to dispose of it in a trash can but a napkin at my desk works too.

I'd say that I use approximately 40% los and 60% portions. I get much more flavor out of portions than I do lös. If loose snus would deliver as much flavor and nic hit as portions did, I would probably use lös exclusively because it just seems right. I have no qualms using it in public and spitting it out in front of hot chicks. That kind of behavior pulls a lot of trim here in the south. :P

I used to use los 100% of the time until Thunder Frosted came out. If Frosted came in a loose, I would probably nix portions again. BUUUUUUT... it does not.

To me, using a portion is kinda like eating "pie" through the panty hoes... But when that is the only way that pie comes, one has to make due.

Not even close to 100% loose here, though I do enjoy a pris or two in the evening. I dig the Phantom Blue loose, and the Ettan loose is just sublime. However, the loose snus desiccates my lip and gum something awful. If I leave it alone for an hour, then it completely dries out the site where I place it. I don't want a snus pocket in my lip, and I don't enjoy the dried out lip and gum. So, after about 20 minutes, I have to start rolling that bugger around, and I usually try to move it from one side of the lip to the other. V2 loose like Phantom is compliant in this respect. I can toss it around under my lip nearly like a portion, without eating much of the pris. Thanks to this forum, I learned the blowfish-face technique, so now I can manipulate Ettan pretty well now too, even while sucking down a beer. Nonetheless, I am not yet planning to increase the loose in my daily regimen.

I do have one question about baking. I've watched the recommended handbaking videos on youtube. These guys seem to work the snus for half a minute or more before finally placing it under the lip. Goodness sake, what is the point of that? Compacting the loose snus just seems to multiply the time that it takes for flavor and nic to emerge. What's wrong with just grabbing it, pinching a little, then jamming it up there? Rhetorical question, I suppose. I don't have all day to ruin a pris by over-baking, after all.

Those videos are pretty funny. Snus shouldn't be anymore compacted than a pinch of dip- you just grab a wad and stuff it. The few corns that fall down are spat out; your saliva, gum, and inner cheek do all the work of forming the pris. If you're ending up with tobacco juice all over your hand after baking then you're compressing it too much. Try a farmer pinch, I guarantee you'll get more flavor and nicotine that way. If you're concerned about having a messy looking mouth, hey- it's lös, get a portion if you want to be neat.

Technically I use los 100% of the time BUT I have some portion cans left from my first snus buys and use those from time to time just to use them up.

Does the nicotine effect compare with portions?
