Received my first shipment of Swedish snus (Noob)

I had to go find one of those meters to check, and I've been not smoking for nearly 6 weeks already. Time gets away from me.

That's a mighty honcho stack of V2's as others have said, but saying that, congo rats on the snus stash :P

Hell, when I started getting my stash up I almost overdoses on nicotine every time. I would try em for about 30 minutes and switch up. Over time it mellows down and you get into a nice groove.

Zman, love the enthusiasm buddy. Alhtough the excitment may diminish, it will never die! I always get my shipments delivered to my office, so I can pop a fresh portion right away. I never tire of the process of carefully stashing each can in the freezer and then admiring my work
As for your 9 open cans, don't sweat it. I always have 5 cans of portions and 5 los open and ready to cram into my lip at all times. Sometimes I can't help it and open a couple more! The los always stays in the fridge tho, just because I don't use los away from home usually. But I take all 5 portion cans to work everyday, no need for decision making as I rush to get out the door! So how are you liking the offroad? I have never ordered any of them, and only tried the coffee/vanilla. Which one is your favorite so far? Also, are you weird enough to like the Blue portions? Lol.

roo, i am a noob at this, and perhaps i shouldn't say this, but i'm on my 2'nd portion of offroad licorice in a row. this offroad licorice has me sucking the bag to extract all the goodness out of it. it's actually my favorite at the moment, i've always been a cheap date. i've been blasting through so many flavors it can be overwhelming. the funny thing about this is that it seems that everytime i go around the circle of 9 when i try a snus again i find something new about it. i do know i like those general mini dry mints too, so much that i am kind of holding them in reserve. the general los i really like too, but i haven't the experience yet to prevent it from the mudslide effect.

christ, now i gotta go try a blue again since you mentioned it... shit, i gotta quit this chain snusing people. it's too fun! :twisted:

Good luck with that, it's been over a week here and I'm still chain snusing. So many flavors and effects. You have a lot to go through but I bet in one week you'll be chomping at the bit to make another order.

Wouldn't it be great if they had a Taste of Sweden Snus event. You could pay like $10 and get sample and try different snus from different manufacters.

Zman, you can say whatever you want, its always cool to hear peoples first impressions as they explore snus. I'm a bitch in that 1 bad offroad experience and negative feedback about the brand in general has made me decide I have no interest in it, nor do I care for the flavor options. At least you are experiencing it for yourself! In my experience, I didn't find the forum until 6 weeks and a few orders of snus later, so personally I enjoyed trying all different brands with no outside influences or suggestions to go by. It made it feel that much more foreign and novel, as I had no one to do it with or discuss it with for the first few weeks. So to all the noobs wanting advice on what's good and what to try, my advice will always be to order 1 can of anything at all that intrigues you, and find out for yourself! Everyone's tastes are so different, and they change so much, that one man's trash is truly another's treasure (PP!). Grov svart for example. Excellent advice here. I had my first snus the same way, and it was a fun adventure. If Xobeloot listened to me, he wouldn't be the Phantom menace :^D

I had my first Grov Svart yesterday, and I found it interesting. I think I'd ultimately have to say I like it, but won't get it again. The high nic aspect tips it away from the purchase side of the line. If it were regular strength, I'd get the occasional tin.

day 4 -

i think the merry go round is slowing down, last nite i stayed awake about 45 minutes after my last snus without cramming another one in my mouth. when i woke up this morning i made my coffee and drank some before wanting my nic fix. i think i have found the hit of hits for me in the morning, offroad licorice with morning coffee. that was just perfect, the mellow flavor of licorice blending in with the hot coffee is just superb. it's a keeper. the licorice was followed up with the offroad coffee/vanilla, and that was a tasty capper fitting in just fine with the morning awaking. after breakfast i was ready for my major hit of nic so i whipped out the oden's extra stark and surprise surprise, it hammered me. geeze, i had to abandon the coffee and run to the fridge for a beer to wash the intenseness down. that hadn't happened before. as soon as i had a couple of swallows of beer it was back on track, a blast of nic thrusting me into life.

@roo + lxskllr - man, having to deal with all the snus out there without guidance must have been a hell of a ride, i feel lucky i was able to ask questions and get some guidance concerning real snus when i left camel land. i think there is a famous saying that might apply to your adventures doing what you did - "To boldly go where no man has gone before". :wink:

i appreciate the ideas for different snus to order for my second order that have been posted here, this thread will come in handy and i will reread it when i get ready to place my next order. i'm definitely gonna get some of the thunder frosted next time. i'm putting my used portions in an ashtray today, i'm trying to determine how much snus i'm using daily to get an idea of how long my stash will last. i can say that with snus it takes time to really appreciate what is going on taste wise, it's really just not a one time thing where you try something and know what it's about. it's much more subtle.

my mind is starting to turn to those unopened cans in the fridge, what flavors are in there, what are the textures to the other los. i really want to finish a can before i pop open another one dammit, but it's tempting to dig into that unexplored stash. it looks like i've been digging into the oden's extra stark the most, there are only 8 portions left. anyway, this is kind of like what day 4 is.

hey, this thread will end sometime, when my noobiness fades no doubt. but i read somewhere here that it was fun to go back after some time had passed to see how one had reacted initially to snus, and this will also help me placing future orders.

edit - i am editing my first post in this thread with my initial conclusions about my experiences with the different snus in my first order. it makes it easier for me to see what i'm gonna place on my next order.

I like to see someone else besides me likes the OR Licorice in the morning with the coffee. For some reason even though I'm not a big fan of licorice, this combination just seems to go well for me.
