I used whatever was available ranging from electric stoves to 9 volt batteries with a guitar string between the poles.

never tasted a difference in my cigarettes with a zippo, but always used it. I guess if you inhale the first puff while lighting it, you'll get that zippo lighter fluid scent to it. I never inhale the puff while lighting my cigs though. Tends to burn a bit too much.

I've done the stove thing plenty of times (goes along with opening a beer bottle off the edge of a counter) but man, that 9-volt/guitar string combo is hardcore.

Bic all the way. Not the small ones, just the regular sized; nothing beats them.

Matches. I still use matches when I have my occasional rolled cigarettes. Reason being, paper matches are extremely inexpensive (I boxes of them at the supermarket). Also, I love matchbook art (I currently have matches with a different president on each book. There's something strangely gratifying about lighting a joint with a Nixon match.) Also, after letting the sulfur burn off, it imparts no taste to the smoke.

Tobacco or pot, I'm a match man. I have an aversion to the taste of lighter fluid. I only use lighters for discreetly (and quickly) smoking herb in public enviorns.

I always used some form of either BIC or electronic type lighters. Never really cared for the way zippo's tasted. Matches were my second option.

I always PREFERRED matches, but they just aren't as practical as a bic really.

Matches just because they're neat, let the red part burn off, then hold it to the cigarette. I have over 390 packs of match packs from all over the world. Match packs are one of many things that i collect, it's getting more and more difficult to get them in Canada though.

It's not like anyone would turn down a lighter, matches are just...well...cool

matches... they were free with every pack!
