I just opened a can of Onyx today,bought one to try.I seem to like it a lot.It has a very slight sweet undertone.My question is,is their another that is similar?Also is the General Sterk close to the same.I am new to snus and am still trying different kinds..

General Onyx is pretty unique when it comes to flavor. From my experience, the lime flavor takes the cake while the tobacco flavor gets the back seat. General Ekstra Sterk is quite different from Onyx. The tobacco flavor is very strong and the lime flavor is slight. As well, Ekstra Sterk is a Regular Portion, while Onyx is a White Portion. -
I haven't tried it yet, but will in my next order. I have a few questions for you, since your new to it too. First, is it that much stronger than regular general (white or original)? I would love to try it, but don't want to get knocked out by it. Also, is the flavor similar to normal general? I always assumed it was, but just stronger. Can't wait to try it. THe lime comment sounds interesting...thinking of it now, the original portion i'm using, actually has a slight lime flavor to it. More lemony though.Comment

I have not smoked cigs in over two years and then the last couple only about 10 a day,I switched to a pipe about 4 or 5 a day but could not smoke that without inhaling.The Onyx did not bother me as far as the nic level,the strength as far as taste was not as harsh as the General white portions,more smoother but still a good more pronounced taste,"not as salty? It was smoother on my throat when I did have to swallow.
As to Snusjus,
I wanted to know if it was similar to General Sterk not Extra Sterk,I do not think I want to go that high in Nic level.Comment

I have tried most versions of General, and Onyx and Sterk are my favorites.
Onyx: perfect pouch material, a strong citrus flavor, not as salty as regular SM snus, and strong in a gradual sort of way.
Sterk: sort of like a generic white portion. Not as peppery as General white, but a stronger nic hit (same as Onyx). Citrus and tobacco flavors are more subdued than any other General.
Ekstra Sterk: Strong, salty, and very runny. Don't like it at all, even though I like extra strong snus.
General white: Too little nicotine, too much pepper.
General original: Too salty and runny, but better than ES.
I only like three of the SM brands that I have tried: Onyx, General Sterk, and Grov Black. I probably need at least 11 mg.Comment

Let me second, Oynx is unique. A VERY distinctive taste. One of my favorites. Would get it more often if it were less expensive. And I don't care much for General, or even General Sterk that muchComment

There is nothing quite like a portion of onyx. Great great snus. I have not tried the extra sterk, but there is no comparison between onyx, sterk and regular general. It is far far better omho.
Onyx was my favorite snus from the beginning, and only recently got dethroned by thunder frosted, though if I am in the mood for a clasic flavored snus, onyx is by far the best. That reminds me, I don't have any and need...to...order...more.Comment

Hmmm.Nothing like it well I quess I'll have to order more and maybe even give Thunder a try?I have one can of G.regular portions and have to agree on the thought's.Also the whites (and I bought a roll of them )They are OK but nothing special.I some how got it in mind to buy a roll of the Skruf whites,they are quite mild tasting,but not bad,how about the Skruf Sterk,are they similar to G.SterkComment
