I received my test can of Thunder Frost to review today and I am very excited. This is the one that I had guessed would be spearmint.
Initially impressions start with the can. The can starts out similarily to the other V2 products, however this one has a snus catcher lid. I will try to get some pictures later here to load that show. The little lid has Thunder slightly raised and 5 stars. Very nice looking in my opinion.
I open the can and am hit with a very nice minty smell. The portions seem moist to me, which is very nice. The portion material from initial feel with the fingertips seems a little more supple than the standard V2 portion material.
So not wanting to have any of this on an empty stomach, I ate dinner, then brushed without toothpaste to make sure I don't have anything tainting the flavor. The Mrs. is trying one out as well.
We started at about 6:58 and the first thing I noticed was the strong mint and the burn, oh that sweet burn I have not felt in a while. She commented on the burn as well. I am tasting the spearmint slightly but I'm also not wanting to tease it with my tongue so as to get the full effect. The spearmint so far seems rather natural or at least doesn't come across quite as sweet as the Camel Frost, although it has been awhile since I've had any of that.
I will update in another 30 minutes if I'm still alive. This being the strongest Snus I have tried so far, I was a little nervous but so far it's like others have said, comes on but mellows and is not overpowering in the nic hit.
Ok, 30 more minutes have passed and getting more drip from the portion. Gotta say I'm loving this spearmint. Not real sugary but not medicinal tasting at all to me. My wife agrees and has already asked how much it is, which means this will definitely be in orders when it comes out. I think we are both finding this to be one of top 5 if not higher. For her it's a little stronger so she is looking at it as more of dessert before bed mellowing snus. Still feeling that cooling sensation in the lip, which is great.
