Camel Snus Review by A Snusaholic

Ok, this has been debated before but i feel i can at least be more objective than others.

I had not had any Camel snus until today when my store started carrying it.

First disappointment: Only 2 flavors Mellow and Frost, weird because on the camel snus boards everyone is ticked because they loved spice and it was discontinued.

    anyways,

The package is attractive. The pouches ( 15 to a can ) are like mini size in width but extremely long, longer in material than original pouches.

The taste is quite mellow. Nice tingle in the lip and I actually prefer these for being discreet.

Low salt contnent. The sweetness isnt actually overbearing, ive had some swedish snus varieties sweeter than these.

Now, ive been using swedish snus for nearly a year. And I must say i prefer Camel Snus ONLY because it has a lower nic content but a pouch size that satisfies the lip space that swedish snus minis just dont.

I actually think Camel got it right for the American market, something Triumph is failing miserably at.

Camel is sold in a fridge while Triumph just sits out on the counter.

Also, Camels tins are attractive eye catchers, while Triumph cans look like an 80s throwback.

Please understand I am trying to lower my nicotine intake and these are perfect for me, some of you are nic lovers and others use snus for quiting cigs. I started with Higher nic content and have been working my way down. So some of you will have no need for Camel and some of you will just hate it but I like it for what it does for me.

So theres my comments on a product I just tried for the first time.

Ok I end my rant, just been a while since i posted.

    And we miss you!!!

Totally understand your review. And for your purposes, Camel really does work well. I always liked the taste. Can't believe they dropped Spice though, only one I still occasionally bought (and still have in my fridge, they keep forever)

If low nicotine is what you are seeking, then camel is perfect. Of course, there always is the nicotine free snus too.

But your trashing of triumph?? I hate you, never post here again!!

Just kidding. But how someone can not like that delectable sweet Triumph is simply beyond me.

I have read that Camel Snus now contains 8mg of nicotine per pouch. R.J. Reynolds surveyed smokers and they complained there was not enough nicotine. As well, Marlboro Snus contains 6mg of nicotine per pouch, which is twice what it used to be (3mg). I'm excited to try Camel Mellow, since I despised the flavor of all the old Camel Snus'.

I had read Camel was only 6 mg nicotine.

I am not trashing triumph, i actually like triumph mint a great deal.

Im trashing their can design and lack of advertising.

I am not saying they are failing on product, they are failing on selling their product.

Plus with Triumph you get the same amount as you do in a swedish snus for 3 bucks and then with Camel you only get 15.

        Get this though.

When I went to buy it I guess some corporate shell guys were down here at this store and were asking the Man and Woman who owned it why their sells are down.

Then i went and bought my Camel snus and it was $4.25 !!!!!!! they then asked here why she raised the price of them when it was $3 something only an hour ago.

My only reasoning is they only got Frost in and their shipment was only 6 cans of which I bought 3.

Camel will always be more expensive then stuff we import from Sweden due to tobacco taxes.
