Adventures with my first order

Yes! I got my buysnus.com order today with my first 12 cans! I had been using General portions from the store about 15 minutes from my house, but I finally have variety! I have only so far tried the Gotlandssnus Julesnus so far (I am having to be careful not to OD on nicotine today since I want to try them all now lol), but I love it. When I opened the can and smelled the inside, I thought "Oh no, this smells terrible" and even just smelling one it smells awful, but the taste is great!

The Gotlands Green is the only portion from your order that I've tried.
It has a strong, grassy flavour that's ideal for a change of pace. But it would be tough to go through a roll of it.

I have now tried the Goteborgs Rape No.2. While, again, the smell in the can was intolerable, I really enjoyed the taste of it. I could maybe see going through a whole roll of it.

I also tried the Retro to see what a straight tobacco one was like, and ended up spitting it out. I really don't like that one at all. I will keep you updated!

Usually the "smell" I've found means the snus you got was relatively fresh. Usually if you set out the can for a couple days it tapers off from ammonia to tobacco goodness. Just leave it closed on a table somewhere. I find most of what smells funky at first ends up tasting great after it "mellows out" and the flavors mature.

I have a beer fridge that I keep probably too cold in my basement. I put my snus there on their side in the butter shelf on the door. Only problem is they dry out as the fridge cycles very often.

Wait until you place an order in July or August and your stash is super fresh and gets super hot in transit. You won't be able to get near the envelope until it cools down. I recommend stocking up before summer.

Sounds like good advice. I had not thought of that before. It also gets VERY hot, VERY early here in Houston, so stocking up "before summer" probably means by the end of Feb to last me until next Dec. Don't know if I can swing that XD

Also, I tried my Level can, and also the Gotlandssnus Green. I can't tell much difference between General and Level. That's not really a bad thing in my book, however. I am just a wee bit tired of General at the moment.

I love the Gotlandssnus Green, however. I could see myself sometime placing an order for a roll of this stuff, too.

That's a bit odd to me, since I can't stand level and I like general. Although I guess it makes sense because you haven't been snusing long, and it takes a while for your tastes to adjust to the flavors.

You'll find in the coming weeks/months that something you don't care for now, you may end up liking and something you like now, you may get sick of.

Well, it's not that I can't tell a difference. It's more that out of everything I have tried, Level is by far the closest to General I have tried.

I also tried the Offroad Coffee Vanilla and cannot stand it. The taste reminds me of the way a chocolate scratch-and-sniff sticker smells. It seems we don't have a ton of V2 fans on the forums here, and I have to say that V2 and I are off to a rocky start.

Yeah...as I said in a review once, Offroad Coffee Vanilla tastes like it was soaked in wannabe instant cappuccino powder mix.

I have tried a couple more from my order, and here are my thoughts:

Gotlanssnus Julesnus: This one is excellent. Even though the Nordstrommen is great, too, this one is better. The Nord just kind of had a "Chicklet gum" taste to it, but this one definitely has more of a Christmas touch to it.

Jakobssons Ice-fruit: Another wonderful one. I have always liked icey, cold type things, be it cigarettes (not a 100% menthol smoker, but I like them sometimes) or gum. Not much on the straight flavor, but even under your lip you can feel a nice cold sensation that is very refreshing.

Too true. Icefruit is one of a kind. It's not something I use a lot, but it's nice to have one once in a while. It's like a blast of fresh air.

I just tried both Claq Qui and Elixyr Peppermint. I love both of them. I have seen some people say that they are not fans of Elixyr, and most of the low-cost kinds (*cough*Offroad*cough*) seem to be pretty bad, I really like this one.

I don't taste much of the "dried fruit" taste in the Claq Qui, but it is a nice, mellow snus that I think I will be using a lot first thing in the morning. The Elixyr Peppermint does not have much of a tobacco taste at all, but has a strong, clear peppermint taste that does not taste artificial. Both very nice!

Yeah...but I liked Elixir Peppermint at first too. I grew to dislike it. It still isn't as bad as most other V2, but if you want mint, Offroad icemint is better IMHO.

Lol Call me odd then i grabb the stoutest stuff i can find in the mornings. I need the kick to get me going though, i just popped in my ice fruit minuets ago and i agree its definatly a unique one out off what i have tatsted mmmm

I got my first order in today, my mystery can was goteborgs rape which is one I almost put in my order so I am a happy camper. I have a portion of flader in right now, wow what a unique and delicious snus. This one doesn't bare much resemblance to the classic type snus imo so will help mix it up so to say. I mentioned it somewhere, but in addition I got

edit-Just wanted to add that the longer I keep the flader in the more it tastes like grass to me. Very strange indeed, yet somehow an amazing compliment to the tobacco taste lol. I think this is one I will have to keep on hand.
