General Onyx vs. General Sterk

I finally got around to using a can of General Onyx. After devouring several cans of General Sterk, I feel that the two are damm near the same, with a slight edge to Onyx for the smooth pouch material. Whats your take?

I'm not a big fan of Onyx. There's something about the floral spicy flavor that puts me off. I've had a few cans of it, and still don't appreciate the flavor. Portion material is great though.

General sterk is better, but still a tad bland. Between the two I'd go General sterk.

They do taste a bit different, but not different enough to account for paying a higher price with Onyx.

Onyx is good but not as nicely balanced as regular General and the awesome Extra Sterk. Cannot taste the tobacco, just perfume.

I prefer General Sterk for flavor. I do like the Onyx portion material better, but not enough to justify the price increase, and the flavor difference. Flavor wise Ekstra Sterk is my favorite, but strong portions all day tend to overload my system.

The only can of General Sterk I tried had an overwhelming flavor of pepper, while General Onxy has an ultra-strong flavor of lemon/lime. I prefer the flavor of General Ekstra Sterk because the flavor is balanced very well.

I'm new to snus, and after 7-8 pouches of onyx I have to say it's a bit overwelming. Nice soft pouches, but it tries way too hard to taste "nice". It's a decent snus. But it's almost like it's trying tone jagermeister or something.

No way. Onyx, if you are into it, is completely unique. As I come upon 2 years using snus now, I find that I love the Onyx more and more. It is a very special flavor that I find in no other snus.

I like General Sterk very much, I do. But it doesn't taste like Onyx at all to me. It is more "generic" if you will?? Both have a happy place in my rotation.


Nowthe new General extra sterk?? I think it will join up with Skruff stark as just "too much" for my tastes. I find it just a bit too overwhelming for me.

I cannot stand Onyx. I prefer the sterk, extra sterk, or loose general. Just poped open a can of extra sterk for the first time in a while.... oh its so good. Although I get burnt out of general after a while.

First post here. I'm a fan of Onyx but have yet to try the Sterk/Ekstra Sterk (just put in an order and will get one of each). I'm moving up to stronger snuses after starting with mini then white portions, but Onyx is great for a strong, full tasting snus. I doubt I could snus it all day, though, but great for staying up late and playing video games or watching Deadwood. I think it's a bit too strong for AM snusing, but that's just me. But I like the way it gives you a pure snus experience without too much herb or other flavor (I didn't notice the floral tones other users did) that I can still taste even after having a couple of Grov white portions.

It's a shame they don't sell it anywhere near me even though I'm in the Philly area.

I have come to prefer the General Extra Sterk to Onyx. This is probobly because I was using the Onyx too much (it became run of the mill) and the extra sterk is close to it's flavor, but definetly it's own snus.
