    Recent convert to snus!

After being a devout Copenhagen snuff user for over 10 years, I decided it was time to quit...having spitters scattered all over the house was fine in college, but not so much anymore. Also the chemicals associated with American smokeless tobacco were strongly urging me to quit. I did the nicotine gum for a while and then Camel Snus. I like the idea of Camel's product, but not the sweet flavor. Then a little research led me to this site. I have now placed an order from both buysnus.com & getsnus.com within the last month. So far I have had:

    General Sterk
    General White
    Taboca
    Jakobssons Ice-Fruit
    Elixyr Peppermint
    Göteborgs Rapé White
    Röda Lacket White
    Ettan Vit
    Gotlandssnus Green
    Pall Mall White

The second order consisted mostly of multiples of those I enjoyed from the first order. Without question, my three favorites are Ettan, Roda Lacket, & Gotlands Green. I find it odd that the Green is my fave having dipped with the furthest thing from flavored tobacco offered in the states. Do any of the more experienced snusers have other suggestions, I may like. As an aside, the Elixyr was awful, and the Pall Mall and both General's also left me a little unimpressed. Thanks.

    Welcome to Snuson.

Looks like you've found your way into some tasty brands. I've been using snus for a bit over a year now and still find myself taking a pinch of cope now and again. Cope just has a flavor that no other can rival.

Yeah, fine cut Cope is a flavor that is quite unique. One more question. I really like the idea of the sterk portion...mostly when drinking! However, is there a sterk that is comparable in flavor to Ettan or Roda Lacket. I will likely be buying a half roll each next time I order w/ some Gotlands Green thrown in. I love that stuff, but just can't use it regularly.

Give either General Sterk, General Extra Sterk, or Skruf Stark a try. I like all of them.

Qlaq Qui by Roda Lacket is the one you are looking for.

Also Nick and Johnny regular portions are a must-try for strong snus, although if you like white portions you'd probably prefer Nick and Johnny West.

It seems I prefer the white slightly in that it juices less. I liked the flavor of Taboca, but at times it got a little too juicy. I'm going to try Qlaq Qui and maybe one of the N&J's. What's everyone's take on the Grovsnus Black?

                Hi there,

I'd be careful ordering Claq Qui if you thought that Taboca was juicy! Claq Quui has to be one of the wettest portions I've ever had, but it is a fantastically classy snus.

I didn't care for the GrovSnus black, i thought it had a horrible sickly sweet overtones of vanilla on top of the leathery tobacco taste. Others disagree with me though. I would always suggest trying Onyx instead first.

If you're tempted by the N&J west then I would stick a can of the original portions in too to compare. While the tastes of the 2 are similar, there's just something about the original which is more than just original portion vs white.

                Good luck

Grov Black is like candy mixed with salt and tobacco, not really a favorite.

Claq Qui is a lot like Roda, but with less berry flavor. I like it, but I won't be buying a stock anytime soon.

N&J Original is one of my favorites, but it's a little sweet, so it might not be for you.

Skruf Stark is also a favorite, and not too sweet. I'd definitely try that one.
