Hm ... according to Gothiatek the Onyx is 11 mg pr. pouch, which technically puts it in the big league. Doesnt really feel like it though ... but its a hell of a good snus if you ask me!

I would like it if they made a strong general loose. Or if offroad made a strong loose.

I think I've read somewhere that skruf stark had something like 30mg/portion... personally, I don't trust most of these numbers except perhaps the ones from Swedish Match, which seem to be at least self-consistent.

On www.skruf.se it says in swedish:

skruf stark los - ett morkt, latbbakat lossnus med stark tobak (+10%nikotin)
skruf stark portion - 24 1-gramsprillor med stark tobak (+35%nikotin)

guessing it means 10 percent more than normal and 35 percent more than normal. But why the huge difference it portion and loose?

I imagine the difference exists because people who use loose snus usually use more than one gram at a time when they form a pris - I know I do! With the portion, however, one is normally more concerned with low(er) profile, so one portion will do nicely and there's no need to double up.

I had read previously about the difference between portion variants of loose snus, but wasn't sure about believing it. I haven't used a large variety of portion snus to be able to compare, but from what I have used, I can say it's true. There is an obvious taste and strength difference between Roda Lacket loose and portion, and a smaller, but still noticeable one between Kronan portion and loose. Roda portion strikes me as fruitier, almost an apple smell and taste, as compared to its loose counterpart. Kronan basically tastes the same, but in portion gets really bitter when you've had it in a while - something that has never happened to me with Kronan loose, or any other loose snus.

I am amazed when people want stronger. I smoked a pipe for a long time and I did tend to choose the stronger (nic-wise) blends. I then tried Oliver Twist ops: , which was nice, but... So I tried snus. Yes, the candy-like LD Black Salmiak. Not as salty or ammonia-tasting as dubble zout, but I liked it. Then I received a can of Ettan portions, and I am now 'out of my league' as they say. Very strong.

Those of you who like stark...

Stark/strong snus is very useful, if you want to get your mind away from the cigarettes. It worked for me within a few days. And it really is very strong, IMHO even stronger than cigarettes, but you get used to it very soon.

I personally still like Skruf Stark from time to time, but I also like some of the 'weaker' brands, including LD Black.

                  Cheers!

Certainly. I found myself almost chewing on LD Black- I mean masticating, moving it around, trying to get every drop. It seems that I am simply not ready to move into the full size portions. I wish there were an in-between.

You mean the miniportions? Just try two of them at a time. Or try lรถssnus. Also I'm sure, it won't take long for you to feel comfortable with the original portions.

                      Cheers!

Well, you're right. I found that if I'm not pushing them around and swallowing the, erm, juice, the nicotine content is fine. I imagine it was the drip that was too strong! I do find that General is a little odd in that I can use many of the others with no ill effect but General portions do give me a bit of a tight throat. Can't wait to get an Icetool (they are a bit too costly to escape the notice of the wife as a casual purchase) and some of my favourite: Rรถda Lacket! Who cares if the Swedes find this to be 'teenager snus'. 8)

I now have Skruf Stark, Nick and Johnny, and General Onyx (all portions). I haven't tried the Onyx yet. Skruf Stark is nice at the start, but I feel a little 'dissociated' after awhile. The Nick and Johnny is about the same. I may be saving these for after large meals. I am using a Skruf Stark as I type so if this is at all incoherent you will know why... :?

The Skruf Stark portions are too strong for me. I can deal with the Nick and Johnny loose, no problem. If there's anything stronger than Skruf Stark portions then I want nothing to do with it.

Maybe Skruf might introduce Skruf Stark Maxi portions

Just returned from a week in the mountains.
Sitting in front of one of the most beautiful lakes in the world with a lip full of Skruf Stark Loose was just awesome.
Wonderful taste and a completely numb lip, I was just happy
Ordering some Skruf Stark Portions today, for work.
I am still smoking, didn't intend to quit, just a side effect of snusing, of which I am not complaining.
Also found I actually like Nick & Johnny portions this week. I did not like the taste the first time around, but for some reason now I do.
Hard for me to believe the nic content of Diplomat, (now one of my favorites) hits me much harder than 8 mg, feels to me more like 11 or so.

                                ______________
Jon (Enjoying a nice Diplomat and cup of coffee)
