    Suggestions?

    Hi,
I'm a fairly new snus user - about four months now. I mostly have been using Skruf Stark Portion which really satisfies my nicotine craving. However, I think I need to try something different as my "taste" has seemed to change lately. The Skruf Stark tends to "burn" a little too much lately - almost too strong of a taste... A little background - my first experience with oral tobacco was Skoal Mint pouches (which I still enjoy occasionally). I fell in love with the idea of snus and not having to spit all the time and switched over to that. Some of the snus I've tried has been: Skruf - regular, Skruf Stark, Offroad(not a fan of any more), G. Rape #2, General -Sterk, and Nick and Johnny. Any suggestions of something that might be a little more mellow yet pack a good punch? I'm open to trying non-stark portions and even some of the flavors that are a more traditional tobacco flavor. I love reading everyone's posts and value your opinions. This is a GREAT forum! Thanks for your suggestions and advice.

Welcome to the forums! If you enjoy licorice, you might try Gotlands Gray. For some reason I get a big nic hit off of that one. If you want mellow, then definitely try Roda Lacket. I'm still fairly new to snus, but it's the smoothest I've had...

not to mention that RL has 10 mg/g of nicotine. If you need a little kick with great flavor, definitely give Roda a try.

I find I enjoy Jakkobsons Ice Mint. Not as a all day type but a late evening treat. For me it packs a bigger "hit" than regular portions. It may be in my head tho'. Right now my two favs are Grov and Luckys. Both are traditional tobacco flavors. Not fruity at all.

Don't be to concerned about your tastes changing, seems to happen to all of us. I really dug my first couple of cans of Knox, now I merely tolerate it, because I am to cheap to toss it. Had a couple of other varieties did the same thing.

Same here. I'm still in that "second chance" phase for several varieties (Phantom, Offroad, Skruf...all los) and I'm zeroing in on my go-to's.

I noticed though, that I loved Phantom and OR initially, then about 3/4 of the way through the cans, I couldn't stand them. Hopefully my next cans will pleasantly surprise me.

I'm thinking of switching to non-stark portion and loose snus because they taste better. I want to try a larger variety of snus as well. I'm excited because the only non-stark snus I've tried is General Wintergreen and Triumph Mint/Original. I will probably order a sampler of portion snus to see what I like the best. As well, I hope regular snus will help me taper down on my nicotine consumption.

Imperial Tobacco, makers of Skruf and Knox
              by Guest
Imperial Tobacco is the parent company of Skruf (pronounced 'Skroof' and Knox brands of Swedish snus. Skruf is probably the second most popular snus brand in Sweden and one of the top most popular snus brands in the growing American market.

Skruf was started by two life long friends who saw an opportunity to make a big future for a small product - Jonas Engwall and Adam Gillberg.

Life long friends and entrepreneurs, Jonas and Adam, sat down in 2001 to discuss how they could use their skills gained in the world of finance to build a business in an area they were passionate about.

Skruf is produced in the forests of Småland in the southern part of Sweden and fresh water from the forest lakes are used in the production. Only the best tobaccos are used in the making of Skruf and the famous Swedish standards for production of snus are of course being met. Skruf as a company has a strong focus on environmental issues and are working hard ...
