Yes, at least the need to spit will. But I still get that sudden strong taste sensation. If you find it too overpowering, check out some whites. They are more mellow coming on. After about 13 months of using snus, I largely switched over to whites (although the Pall Mall original rocks)

As for sweeter, a couple of recommendations. LD Black is the best licorice snus IMHO. I love Probe, VERY sweet, some people don't like, and I like Skruff Cranberry. Mocca Pomegranate is good too, but less of a nic hit cause it is a mini.

If you are leaning to mini's, you MUST try Mocca+. A mini with all the nicotine you will need.

I only got into snus as a nicotine alternative for the 4 hours I ws running a shift in a large outbound fund raising center. I didn't like how often I was having to leave the floor to smoke. I had no plans on quitting cigarettes, I was just hoping that snus would tide me over.

Then funny thing happened....I liked the snus!!! Over the next 6 weeks, I just smoked less and less, until literally, I just started to forget to buy more cigarettes.

Had I been trying to quit, I'm sure I would have instantly. I was quite good at quitting, I just always went back within 6 mos - 3 yrs.

My point to people trying to quit, or wanting to quit cigarettes is that snus will lead you away from cigarettes regardless of what you want. SO there is no need to stress over any of it. Plus, unlike quitting cold turkey, smoking 1 or 5 cigarettes does nothing to change the trajectory.

Just trust the snus, it will lead you away from the smokes all on it's own

If I could “vote” for an Anglo-American snus ambassador, it would be hands down Sagedil. Dude is friendly as all hell, loves snus and makes people feel comfortable while trying a strange product from a far away land (for most of us).

I would trust his snus advice over my own.

That being said, my advice is throw those cigarettes out and make a commitment. I tossed mine out and switched on New Years Eve. I had been smoking for 15 years and tried every strategy to quit known to mankind. The first month was hard at times due to not knowing what the hell to do with my fidgeting paws. I persevered though. This gave me a great sense of accomplishment as I simultaneously fell in love with snus.

Ultimately, addiction is probably the most personalized pain in the ass in the world. So it really is up to the person. I know this, I can’t ever afford to dance with the devil that is a Marlboro Light even once.

My advice, draw a line in the sand. Quit those ****ing things and never have another!
