Different strengths between tins of general?

Hi folks. I'm a very new snus user. I've used tobacco occasionally for more than 20 years "as needed," but no cigarette/chew addiction, fortunately. Snus is attractive to me per the minimal toxicity and not tasting cigar smoke for 48 hours. So, I got 2 tins of General recently, 1 white and 1 mint. I believe the portions are equal, but the mint seems way stronger. The white comes on nicely and gets the job done, but the mint hits really hard and right off to the bathroom shortly after. Are some tins just stronger than others? Does the mint intensify nic absorption? Freezing them slows it down a bit, but even a frozen mint still seems notably stronger.

Both the us mint and general white have the same nic per portion, I would imagine the ph of the mint is higher than the White due to the flavouring, which is why the nic comes on stronger. I don't know if this the case but that is the reson why two snuses of equal strength can have different effects, all down to the ph level.

I'm so immune at this point, it takes the strongest snus on the market to even make me feel anything. But in my experience about the US General mint (circle can) is that nearly every time that I try to "fluff" the portion, it nearly bursts open at the ends. And, it drips much much faster than others. I generally try to avoid it.

Ok, so in addition to ph, if you're starting "wetter" it should come on stronger. Which is you're favorite?

A snus that you like better, taste-wise, will always feel stronger. The reason isn't psychological but the fact that you more often poke a good tasting snus with your tongue and thereby moisten it, which helps to absorb the nicotine faster. I think it's most important to find personal favourites than to find a brand that has a perfect receipe, the highest nic-content, the best nicotine-to-ph-ballance or something like that.

That said, from my personal experience and taste, the brands with the best nicotine-delivery (powerful and long-lasting, but not overpowering) are Ettan Lös and Oden's Islay Whiskey.

White is drier by design..... That is what the white is...slower to drip and a more subtle release, .but I thought the mint was also a white too? Our resident "Minty" snus expert was recently reassigned to Siberian Blogastan unfortunatly. Hundreds of cans and never a mint in my my snus rotation!

It is a white. But it's almost like they apply the mint flavoring post-portioning now. Either that, or the tobacco is super moist before they portion it. I only noticed it with the mint. Regular white is fine.

The only General portions I ever had open when fluffing are the General Wintergreen white, they are notorious for it.
