Gellivare - If Toque made a Snus is this the right sort ?

I'm told Gellivare is a Snus you can sniff and take orally. What do Snusers think of this Snus? What would be the most popular flavour? Oh, and were can I buy some to try?

I'm not very familiar with sniffing snuff, I've only had a few American brands. It seems to me that Gellivare is a little too coarse to use as a sniffing snuff. I really dig it though, and I would welcome a small producer to try something similar. AFAIK it can only be purchased through The Northerner outside of Sweden.

well, Gellivare is the only flavour of Gellivare and it's a pure tobacco one, the grind is very course and it's quite dark. They also make the Landstroms which is flavoured with bergamot and is slightly less course.

I've heard they might be for nasal use too. But they're still very moist for that even though they're quite dry for snus. The closest in the snuff world is Freybourg and Treyer's courser darker snuffs which are quite specialist. I think you'd do better with a finer grind of snus that could be used for both delivery methods.

I did try snuffing Gellavare. Did not like it so much. Too clumpy, too salty, and not aromatic enough. But as snus it is one of my favorites. A very strong dark flavorful tobacco. If you search this site you will find some recipes with the ingredients of snus. I love your Toque tobacco products and have been using them daily. But I snus also. If you want to compete with snus I would suggest a high nicotine snuff. Keep up the good works Roderick. You have a lot of people stoked on Toque!
