On your personal profile with snuscentral or whomever put the shipping address as Your Name c/o UPS Hold For Pick-up, the UPS address and your phone number. Has been like clockwork with UPS for over a year. I order every month. I had issues when I used my address and wanted/requested to hold for pick-up.

That sounds like my experience....exactly.Originally posted by Grim View PostAny FedEx is just terrible. I have had an issue with EVERY order from them except 1 time. Either something is broken, or they deliver it to the wrong address, so on and so on. I actually avoid retailers that ship using FedEx.

That is odd, we use both FedEx and UPS in our business both domestic and intl. Haven't had any lost packages and only 1 damage claim and that was a couple flat screen TV's that were not protected/packaged very well. The main difference I have found between the two companies is That FedEx customer service is head and shoulders above UPS. I am talking about over 5000 packages per year. Is this possibly a shipper issue?Originally posted by Burnsey View PostThat sounds like my experience....exactly.

As others have said, it is just another way for the govt. to screw around with our snus shipments. Usually it will be released within a few days; the longest they can hold it is 30 days.Originally posted by Grim View PostI've ordered several orders and never seen this.
Exception! 03/08/2014 4:44 P.M. UPS has obtained documentation and submitted to Food & Drug Administration and/or department of AG/PPQ;awaiting response.
What's going on now?
I do disagree with Snusdog about throwing away the UPS bill. I know a lot of people do it, but it is possible it will one day be put into collections and hit your credit report. Stupid I know, and pretty rare, but I've read posts over the years from snusers it happened to.
If you purchased from SnusCentral, just let them know and they will take care of the bill for you....they take care of all the UPS/Clearance House fees.
The weirdest situation is one that just happened to me. I recently received a letter from US Customs telling me a package of 16 cans had been seized a year ago and was being released as it was determined it was not contraband. All I have to do is sign and have notarized a full legal release against the US and agree to pay any charges which had accrued.....a year's worth of storage fees? I don't think so.

Anyway.......while I agree paying the bill may be prudent for those small percentage of times something happens.........legally speaking is another matter.
The shipping price you pay at checkout is a contract between you and UPS. It is the price for a service that you have agreed upon and which UPS has accepted to perform that service...........As such, UPS cannot (post-contract and post-fulfillment of its terms).......alter the terms of that contract and send you a bill for additional money ..........any more than a construction firm that ran into additional cost building the agreed to structure.... bill the client for more than the agreed to price.......Likewise, a company can not send you a product through the mail (that you have not agreed to pay for) and then bill you for it........if they do you are free to keep the product and throw away the bill......nor can they send you a product and bill you more than the agreed to price......that is mail fraud.
The same holds true here as well.........UPS by receiving your payment through the snusshop's website has agreed to ship and broker your snus for the agreed to price .......That said.....they are welcome to ask you for more money for any additional costs they incurred, they can ask you for back rubs, or a grill cheese sandwitch for that matter........but you are not obligated to provide itWhen it's my time to go, I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my uncle did....... True in many cases but government fees, taxes, and tariffs are exempt from your example.
In the case of SnusCentral, they prepay for normal customs clearing house charges up front through UPS DDP delivery. If the package is held past a few days, UPS is supposed to bill them instead of you for the balance of the storage fees caused by US Customs.
Unless any eStore selling anything internationally states clearly in their terms and conditions that they are taking full or partial responsibility for all government taxes and charges, then you are on the hook.
If that was not the case, people would never have to pay customs fees on their orders. I don't know of any eStore or shipper offering to take responsibility your customs fees. Stupid government fees and taxes........

I would check and see what the charges amount to. As they me be more concerned about their liability for tying your product up for a year without a valid reason. If it is just a customs invoice based on value you might be looking at about $10.00 for 16 cans. Worth getting the details.Originally posted by Mr. Unloadingzone View PostAs others have said, it is just another way for the govt. to screw around with our snus shipments. How is your current stock?Originally posted by Grim View PostLet me add that it was cleared early Sunday and was on schedule for Tuesday. Now it's in Kentucky and the same notice just popped up again. Wtf?!
If it's already been processed and cleared by the FDA and clearing agency why is it being held again?Last edited by piks101; 10-03-14, 10:58 PM.

Oh man, I feel your pain. I placed a large order on the 27th of Dec. I was thinking the order would go out on the 30th but Northerner didn't process until the Jan 3rd due to the holidays then I had delays similar to you. I was doing the speedway shuffle for General and it sucked man. Do your customs issues look similar to mine below? I didn't get my order until the 8th when I expected on the 2nd or 3rd latest.Originally posted by Grim View PostTerrible. I mean I have plenty of Sterk portions but they are too strong for me. I ordered 3 rolls of Ettan so I can control my Snus intake.
I can but General White down the street but I've just grown tired of portions.

Ok, think I have it figured out. I looked at the UPS tracking for previous orders. Typically, the initial clearance was in Germany then final clearance in U.S. The last order both of the clearances occurred in U.S.Originally posted by Grim View PostYep exactly.
Never had this happen and I've been ordering Snus for years.

Grim could you copy and paste the info from UPS tracking. I'd be interested in seeing where its all been and when and their comment. As I mentioned before, I'm not sure this isn't normal. When I see the info then I can comment.Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......

I've been wrong lots of times. Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.
