New excise policy?

Got my first order from northerner in almost a year today. I was surprised when the delivery guy informed me he couldn't deliver until I paid him 25 dollars. I haven't been on here much lately, is this a new policy or was I just hit at random today.

Northerner doesn't pay the duty registration to UPS that other vendors do. A similar thing happened to me recently with my first Northerner order in a long time. I think they called it 'duty brokerage fees'?

Close "delivery duty paid" DDP.
Northerner moved to europe to "make it easier for customers" but all they have really done is added another hurdle to getting snus in the U.S.

Yup - I got hit with this on my most recent Northerner order. 25 cents in actual customs duty yielded $10 in total transaction fees. Unless I hit big on one of the Northerner-only products I picked up, I will probably stick with Snuscentral or Buysnus until Northerner gets on board with handling customs duty in transit.

I placed an order from Northerner knowing this might happen. I was really curious how the UPS man was going to explain it. Well it didn't happen. Same as the last two orders...got my snus in 3 days, no money to the UPS man...

I didn't have to pay the UPS man either. UPS sent me a bill for the duties.

I think a lot of have gotten those bills...That's not what happened to the OP.
