    "Lilyhammer"

OK....this may be way off the charts here at this forum but I wanted to insert something regarding everybody's favorite reason for being here in the first place.

Swedish Snus that we all know and love: is interesting (at least for me) to see this original tobacco being used by the people who (supposedly) started it from the beginning.

And to see it being consumed in a very successful commercial movie production starring a major well known actor like Steven Van Zant (The Sopranos) is sort of relative to us consumers.

Anyway.....the series which I love, repeatedly shows the Scandinavian characters in the film popping in portions of Snus. It doesn't make any reference (story wise) to the shots of them using.

So "Hollywood" is on top of portraying reality even when it comes to a very niche habit we have come to love with Snus.

If you get a chance Lilyhammer is also a lot of fun to watch...if you also love a lot of snow.

Hollywood has very little to do with producing Lilyhammer....hence all the snus use....great show....and I like the portrayals....the dancers for the club one was great! Politicaly correct madness!
wiki "Popcorn Sutton" a true COOT!

Is it worth a watch despite the snus?

The only ones I've enjoyed watching were Breaking Bad and Brotherhood.

It took me another episode to see exactly what you mean. And from what I've recently heard the country could be going down this road very fast.

The good thing is that the writers of this series are not pulling their punches in showing this slippery slide.

It's the first Netflix original series. Superb fish-out-of-water stuff.

I agree awesome show actually only on season 1 e 4 at this point but yeah it's good.

On another note the new season of ax men has a pretty cut blond in it throwing in pouches. The job "runner" Joe when he first saw nher he's like " are you chewing? aren't you a girl" Pretty classic IMHO

Pretty sure the Swedish guy uses General loose in most episodes. I know in the second season he had a newer style General loose tin in the episode where he was trying to get investors or whatever...when he met the guy who lost a toe climbing the mountain.

Lillyhammer. Is this a show about an american going to norway? I told my old german teacher I was learning norwegian at a bar a few days ago and he told me about some show on netflix with that premise.

Yeah, he's a mafia guy, who gets witness protection or something, and is relocated to Norway. It's pretty good.

Thank god someone talking about this show randomly showed up on here. I won't get to see him for probably another week or 2 and completely forgot what he said that show was called.

I barely made it through the first episode only to come back months later and being completely hooked. Watched the season that was on Netflix.
                            Hopefully there is more coming.

There is a scene with a policewoman where she said she would like a snuff but he say's it's not portion and she takes a pinch like a real man!
