    Ettan Loose

I'm underwhelmed, I don't think tobacco flavoured snus is my thing.

Not trying to be a jerk, but if you don't like the taste of tobacco maybe snus isn't for you. There's still plenty of smokeless options for you though.

Oliver twist, American dip (which is most candy or chewing gum flavors, and nasal snuff are options.

Have you tried Goat Rape? It has pronounced tobacco taste but not nearly as much as general/ettan/grov.

I was underwhelmed myself the first few times I tried Ettan los. It is very subtle IMO and it took time for me to appreciate the subtle flavors. Lucky Strike is similar and has a more pronounced tobacco taste but does not come in loose form, you may want to try Ettan loose and Granit loose also. Strange but I don't really associate Goat's Surprise Sex with a pronounced tobacco taste, I'm always overwhelmed by juniper berries. It's always reminded me of Beefeater gin.

I'm on my 3rd pris of it now, and I think I'm coming to appreciate its subtleties a lot more, it just reminded me of Prima Fint straight away, which I just find boring, but I must admit to changing my mind now. I'd go as far as saying I'd order some more, but I'll see how I like Grov first.

Goat Rape loose is my all time favourite snus out of an I have tried so far, I'd say the flavour was 50/50 between tobacco and the bergamont

Ettan los is subtle, but the flavor becomes more intense over time (well over a couple of hours, not indefinitely). Very enjoyable, subtle, great super fine grind. Many of the reasons it has lasted as long as it has? Some of the others like General and Grov have become sort of run-of-the-mill for me. They have more initial flavor but they are more perfume like, coarser ground that I don't like to keep in as long. It might be that I tried Ettan first. I like the mildness to it, which I normally don't care for. I suppose it is something so much different then the stuff I normally have (flavored portions) that it is a nice break from the norm. I have not had Ettan Los for a while but I ordered one today because I enjoy a los Ettan or Probe as my after dinner treat. MY Favorite time to enjoy snus.

I find General becomes a little bitter after a while, it tastes good straight away but becomes less so as time goes on.

There's a pleasant tang to the Ettan I find, and you're right, it is a refreshing change from flavoured snus.

Slydel, I've noticed Retro has some of the same smooth tobacco notes Ettan has after the juniper taste starts to fade. It's almost a cigar tobacco like taste. Anyway it's nice to see other Retro fans, IMO along with Gustavas the best midpriced snus you can get. Actually methinks they are some of the best brands at any price. I'm mostly using portions now and only use loose when I'm by myself but would love it if F&L made a loose version of Retro.

I've been trying Los over the last two weeks and so far Ettan is my favorite. I love the flavor I get from a nice, big, handbaked pris. I have been using a modified syringe as well for my Los expariments. I find that a looser handbake for Ettan and Genneral works better. The syringe makes a tighter pris and is better for things like Gottlands yellow (looser bake = TOO MUCH YELLOW  !)
