    Smokeless tobacco in Canada?

Does anyone know if I can buy any kind of snus or american dip in Canada? I'm perfectly happy with snus but curious to see what dip is like.

I'm already excited to see brands like pepto-bismol, q-tips and hersheys kisses in the shops here - they only exist on television programs in the UK! Not quite as excited by the beer here though!

    Cheers

Skoal and Copenhagen products are available everywhere tobacco is sold. DuMaurier snus is available in Edmonton and Ottawa on a trial basis, but only in certain shops.

Also, from experience, you can definitely buy Pepto Bismol in the UK, or at least in London.

What's your favorite beer Squeezy? I'm originally from the UK myself and could kill for a pint of TT's Landlord or real Draught Bass sometimes.

Thanks for all the tips guys. Unfortunately I left Edmonton just before I managed to get to read the first replies so didn't get the chance to try any transatlantic snus. However once I got over the fact that you have to know what to ask for (all tobacco products) before you get given anything by a shop assistant - i managed to buy a tin of skoal straight long-cut and give it a go whilst in Regina.

I'm happy to say it has confirmed what I thought would happen - small shreds of pipe tobacco in some kind of poisonous marmalade is what it smelled and tasted like and I spat it out before I got sick. I can honestly say nothing prepared me for the strength and sweetness of dip. I can certainly see why you'd spit with it!

Having decided not to take any more Skoal - I therefore didn't need any Pepto-Bismol and might have to take a trip to London to check that out

                Cheers

Well - it does depend on the situation of course - but for a proper pub I like something like Adnams Broadside or Archers Golden - or maybe a nicely poured Guinness.

I can see that in Canadian summer temperatures you'd want something a bit lighter than that - something crisp and cold like a Starapromen would have gone down very nicely. I found most of the local brews a bit sweet and not hoppy enough for me.

However - the local speciality - a Caesar (made from local vodka and Clamato) - that went down very well indeed - and we all got our 5 a day!
