    I'm a true Southerner now

I came to snus without ever trying American smokeless tobacco, I grew up in Beverly Hills for God's sake, we don't do that there

But I was just at the store buying a couple of cokes and they had these Timber Wolf Packs for $0.99. How could I resist. Not being a los fan, if I am gonna do American stuff, I am at least gonna try the pouches first.

It really isn't much different than snus. Pouches a bit bigger, and they smell funny. I stuck one in, lower lipped it for a bit but that just felt strange so have it in my upper lip now. No real need to spit with it. (Maybe too soon for me to be sick yet). The taste is sure different than any snus I ever had, and not particularly a good different. Tastes kinda fake to me. I can certainly taste a burnt something with it. Not horrible, but kinda like Offroad in that it tastes manufactured to me.

But damn cheap. And if ever run out (says the man with 80 tins in his freezer), I might choose this over Camel snus. I certainly would choose it over a pack of cigarettes. Probably my last experiment with American smokeless, but at least I can say that I have done it now, so that makes me happy.

But just curious. What other American smokeless comes in pouches. Anything worth trying??

You want a REAl experience get Copenhagen Pouches.

I used those in my dipping days when i would be at work. Just make sure before you purchase that the stamped date on the can is no older than a week old. VERY IMPORTANT.

American snuff pouches loose moisture very quick.

But i would have to say that the american equivelant to what sweden has are skoal pouches. ( aka Bandits and some other name )

They come in alot of flavor varieties and grizzly now makes pouches.

    But definately try copenhagen pouches.

oh, and im drawing unemployment too.

Yeah I still enjoy Cope pouches. I work as a roofer during the summer and play alot of ball. You would think putting snus in a cooler wouldn't be so logistically hard to pull off, but I have cooked many cans on a 120 degree roof. So dip holds up better for me. Plus Cope has a saltyness like snus that I enjoy. But, there is something that is very toxic tasting in them for me, and, strangly, its almost an addicitve toxic vibe I get that I
can't put my finger on. So true about the date.

      Long story short....Cope pouches satisfies.

LOL, OK I will have to give them a try, I spit out the Wold Packs after about 40 minutes and was SO glad to pop in a Knox. Just so much better. But I have to pay my respects to the American stuff, so I will pick some of it up in the next few weeks. I'll try the Cope next.

Give it a try only to say youve tried "The American Snuff "

I mean if you want to try what is the pinnacle of american snuff copenhagen would be it.

I mean hate it or love it , it is what it is.

Take the strongest snus made and say, " If you are a hardcore snuser then you must try this." is basically what it is

I wouldn't wanna be on a 120 degree roof with a Dead Rabbit.

sagedil, if you like anything even remotely apple flavored try the skoal apple pouches. I prefer the fine cut over the pouches but when I chewed that's what I used. The Red Man and the Skoal apple are actually the only dips I could ever get into.

Man, speaking of apple, I got an Offroad apple portion, not sure how I feel about it, definitely better than any of Skoal's sweet apple-candy flavored stuff. I'm rocking my 3rd pouch of the day....it's standard Offroad fare...but I'm drinking a diet soda with it, maybe that's the prob.?

superdevil, I'll give the Skoal a try to. Definitely wanna try some of the flavored stuff too. I mean, if I'm gonna go down this route, I have to do it right.

So far, Cope and the Skoal apple. Any more I should try??

btw, the Timber Wolf tasted really, really bad. Wasn't the type of tobacco, just the taste really sucked with a strange off flavor. I can still almost taste it in my mind a day later.

Earlier in the post someone mentioned that grizzly made pouches, and this is true; if you're looking for something snus-like, grizzly has a salty character that most don't like at first, but it grows on you. Plus, you can't really argue with a roll of 5 for 8.99...Speaking of skoal, I've been a loyal skoal mint user. It has a little more burn than any other dip I've tried, but if you stick with it, it has a wonderful sweet, york peppermint patty taste to it. You know, like, minty, but with a dark chocolatey flavor underlying. I've never used skoal mint pouches, but I have used the wintergreen. I didn't dislike them, I just didn't feel like I got enough flavor from them. Plus, once some loose skoal has been sitting in your lip, it gets a soft, almost velvety texture that I just love. Skoal is definitely the highest quality dip out there (right next to Copenhagen...it's like pepsi vs. coke if you ask me). Personally, I think you'll like grizzly's flavor better, though. My only complaint with grizzly is that the saltiness makes you very thirsty, and its flavor doesn't last much more than 25 or 30 minutes; skoal keeps its flavor for at least 2 hours, usually more if you don't poke and prod at it too much.

Oh, and for the record, skoal apple blend and skoal citrus taste like bile to me.

**** the pouches! if you wanna do it right get Copenhagen long cut (make sure its not Cope Long Cut Straight it will give you the shits). Skoal if you want candy flavor. Timber wolf and the cheap shit is just well... shit. If you like oliver twist get a pouch of Red Man Plug or Red man Silver leaf (also i would like to mention Mail Pouch its pure tobacco leafs the same idea as Plug or Silver leaf from Red man and a bit cheaper).

Skoal Bandits are small compared to their "Pouches" Copenhagen pouches are larger and more juicy. Bandits are quite dry.

Don't know why any snuser would go back or go to american snuff but enjoy your journey.

                      You should try nasal snuff!!!

                        YES NASAL SNUFF!!!
Nuthin better after dinner than a snus, a joint and a lil Wilsons of Sharrow Menthol Plus nasal snuff. I only use the snuff in the evening. I have to use a breathing machine to make sure I keep breathing when I sleep. So before I put the mask on I do a hit of Wilsons and let er rip. It helps to keep my sinuses open and I get a good rush before sleep. A side effect of having to use this machine is it forces me to keep my mouth closed and my tonge in place so if I fall asleep with a snus in I can be assured that if and when I wake up it will be exactly where I put it the evening before. However, I only accidently snus in my sleep, never on purpose. The dreams are...............well like taking LDS.

........not that I have ever taken LSD. I mean, come on, I survived the 60's

I did some surveying for one of their churches near DC. We used to call it the LSD church. I bet that would be much more fun :^D
